Most people on the forums aren't really looking to meet new people, make friends, or even learn about anyone else in the community. They just want information on a specific subject, or to get their own point across on a specific subject. Very rarely will a forum community actually start to learn about one another, and mark who the common posters are, and what they post like.

You seem like a very nice person to me, and I always enjoy people who can speak their mind without being crass or rude about it. I've been a forum moderator several times, and in charge of an entire community once, so I'm used to learning the ins and outs of a community, and mapping the people who tend to post useful information as well as those that decide to just be a nuisance.

In answer to your actual question, if you can speak your mind well, and have an interesting or strong point on a specific subject, it's usually enough to get you noticed. I tend NOT to look back at any of my posts though, unless the topic stays productive and is ongoing, as that rarely happens. As long as you stay involved, and keep making meaningful posts that aren't "+1 /10char" or "I agree for no reason other than to agree, baiii" You will do just fine.

I actually came to socialise and I have the time and skills to post alot of content too I mean I had no posts 2 days ago but... there just isnt anything really worth talking about or to here. I get my info from all over not from this site and I dont have any friends form here on here or on psn from here so... I'm just really wasting time. It's just nice to be part of something I guess... very dull though

Only when when you see yourself referred to as "his" or "him" when someone else will reference you in a discussion, dialogue. How would you like people to call you a "her" or "she" when talking about you, and you are actually a "him".

Hmm I try. "I couldn't care less" sounds like a correct answer. It's highly unlikely to start running a dating service on these forums anyways.

As the topic states... HI! I'm Kerry!

I often hang out and post in the general discussion area of the forums and I noticed something. I figured that I could bring it here and either people would be brutally honest, or they simply wouldn't care and this thread would swiftly slip into the abyss.

Keep in mind that this is my first message board experience, so I am rather ignorant to the social norms contained within. One thing I do however notice is that after I post something I am often ignored. Now this could be due to the fact that I'm a girl, or most people don't bother to read through a thread any further than the first page.

What I wanted to ask was, those of you that have seen me, am I doing something wrong to push people away or possibly alienate myself? I mean, usually the active poster gets flamed once and a while and I cant remember anyone ever throwing a flame on me!

Anyway, please chime in, or continue ignoring me, either way I'm fine, but if I'm doing something wrong, clue me in!

Depending on the thread you post in your reply may get lost in the sea of multi posts that show up all at once. Or it could be that your comment was read taken in and merely not warranted a reply. As folks have pointed out sometimes it's the inflammatory that attracts the most attention.

And I wouldn't chalk it up to being a girl, almost all guys assume a woman is actually a dude until proven otherwise. While probably not what every girl wants it insures a treatment common to all players, most women realize how differently they are treated once they've proven themselves female to their fellow gamers.

I treat everyone as an 'it' until further information is supplied.

Or as a 'human' if 'it' sounds too impersonal.
