Where to get an Assault Rifle?

New player here. Is there an in-game merchant/store where I can purchase an Assault Rifle?

There are some that sell Assault Rifles yes, easiest method to find would be to open up your map, and drive to each of the stores on the map. You unlock Fast Travel points at a lot of the merchants so it is worth doing this early anyway so you can check the shops often for new equipment!

sondus consulate (or however you spell it)

has a VBI vendor that sells blue and green standard assault rifles (full auto) but you will some points to get them but they are good quality and once you have them you can just strip the mods of your old assault rifle and place them on the new one.

this way you keep leveling assault rifles and as you find better mods you keep getting a better gun.

and trust me and all blue rifle is a peace of art but it will take you a find all the parts you want
