You could even use the following as a theme song with minor alteration.

No, what led to war was an invader who showed up on our doorstep and demanded he be allowed to move in with all privileges and attacked when we said "No". And with their superior technology they would have soon become the masters and humans the servants.

Actually they didn't attack when we said no. Read the history, we said "yes". Then their leader was assassinated on the steps of the UN. Which caused talks to break down, then the earth took back it's yes and then war started.

Humans started the conflict by killing their leader on national TV.

All of which doesn't change the fact that if the aliens had wanted to they could have fired their terraformers from space at any time during the war and wiped out all of humanity in an instant without losing any of their lives.

The idea of destroying all human life was appalling to them, but the idea of letting them all die ((in outer space)) was fine to humanity.

Allowing Votans to land and take space on Earth is the logical tactical move to make. With Votans on the surface orbital strikes are less of an issue unless they are willing to harm their own kind(s). In the mean time Earth can use the cooperation to advance their own technology for the day to strike back, because the moments the Votans decided to take and make the settlements upon our offer they signed their fate as our enemy.

Whether you believe in the afterlife or not, to terraform or lay waste to a world with life is a sin. It does not matter if there is sentient life or not, but with the obvious trend of planets being lifeless extinguishing and ruining millions to billions years of evolution is nothing but monstrous. How can one face himself in the afterlife and what worth has the exodus if you do not believe in the afterlife. Letting nature take its course is the logical way, is it not? Now i have become death the destroyer of worlds. It easy to do one thing and regret it later, it is harder to make the right choice from the start.

To take it out of the lore:
[I]Avatar, the blue giants are harmed and done wrong by the humans. In the lore it is hinted that human civilizations or even life of mankind depends on what they mine.

When native Americans got wiped out as one of the genocides in human history and driven from their homes it is not looked as a positive moment in human history? Humans evolved on Earth, we share it with other life forms but it is our Earth and earth has evolved in its own unique and very precious way, something many tend to overlook. If people try to do right by returning land to native Americans, by holding true to broken agreements, than that is a noble act right? I'm not an American so maybe you like to add your own view to it.

    Back to lore style:

The Votans though they are in a sad roll are despite all good intentions invaders and simply do not belong here. It is not even up to humans to let them create a few colonies and terraform parts of Earth, that just proofs we are a silly infantile race that should not hold the responsibility to make such decisions.

Things have happened and we can't go back, we must go forward. That forward could just as well be restoring Earth or try to do our best to restore it. Noble Votans can help us. If Votans are unable to live properly on Earth as it was, it will be a pity. They will suffer and maybe they will die, but it is the right sacrifice and we will do good to remember them for it when that time comes. Trying to restore the world, does not mean we have to hate the Votans, does not mean we have to now forcefully wipe them out. They have to adjust and they must not stand in our way. Or may the righteous strike them down. Humans should be vigilant as there are still many Votans out there aimed to do more harm to the world. Further terraforming of the Earth, could be the end of mankind, if we have not set upon that road already on The Earth we see before us now.
