Who cares, it's a single player story.

what do you think of the following games:
    fallout 3
    skyrim
    oblivion
    diablo 3
    saints row 3
    mass effect 3
    GTA 4

all of the above have serious bugs in them. diablo 3 is getting better. if you give those developers a "pass" for their bugs and other issues, then you are biased and would make a horrible reviewer.

please, keep in mind, that bethesda has such a horrible track record, they are the only company to have been publicly told by microsoft they must fix some of the most glaring bugs/crashes in their games or microsoft would list them as a malware company, and require users to "approve" a malware warning when installing their games.

fallout 3 was the last straw for them, microsoft said that on the 3 days after release of fallout 3, they had received over 80 million "crash reports" from fallout 3 surpassing any other product, and that over 90% of all crash reports during said 3 day period were exclusively from fallout 3.

compare that to defiance. i would say that trion worlds is doing pretty good.
The thing is, with the berthesda games, yes they have alot of bugs in them, but they all feel like fleshed out, well thought out worlds that I WANT to be in, explore, and learn more about. Everything has that hand crafted feel. The content too, is, usually, very very interesting, like the different guilds you can join, the different story lines you can follow, there's just ALOT there to do. Add to that the terrific mod support which balances out the bugginess imo. Those games have that "ooo, what that over there?" vibe to them.

Diablo 3, functionally, was good (barring server load problems) It's just that, it wasnt what alot of us were expecting from a sequel to diablo 2.

I havent played ME3, but from what my friends have told me, everything other than the ending was fantastic. I certainly loved the first 2 (barring the driving sections in 1)

Defiance, well, seems like the typical brown/grey shooter. It needs more color and character.

Overall, I say the gamespot review I read seemed the most reasonable, if you look at the content of the review.

    Thanks for the bump!

Also the part in bold is just nonsense. It never happened and anyone who believes that crap has lost their mind.

Actually Anarchy Online was far worse than AoC, and AoC was better at release than Defiance so what does that say about this game?
Uh. Fallout New Vegas was THE worst game that I've ever played, in terms of bugs. It was quite literally unplayable at launch due to a rendering error that caused you to drop to 5 fps or less when there were more than 5 character models on screen. It took a player fixing it with a DirectX .dll replacement to be able to even PLAY the game.

because for normal gamers quality of content is much more important then quantity. This is ******** to evaluate the game by how long you can play it.

Right now Defiance has a Metacritic score 12 points lower than Brink on the 360. ROFL!!!

To be fair in this games current condition I can't say that I disagree with it. Now maybe after they at least start hammering out some of the issues I would agree that the score should be higher.

was the 5.5 from angry joe? Or ign?
Angry Joe gave Defiance a 5. So the 5.5 wasn't from him.

Comparing the two games is like trying to compare apples to a dump truck. It's just not a good comparison to make.
