It's nice to see some sort of official response regarding the state this game is currently in. I was also surprised by their action of giving us a week's worth of boosts. These things are just not usually done, so kudos to Trion for trying.
That said it could also be just an ingenious PR attempt at smearing our sight so we get some sort of false sense of accomplishment and/or gratitude. After all, it is written in a very "political" language.

But the thing that surprises me the most is the fact that they are willing to do something like that, but they are not willing to help us understand the game. There are GMs to help us in game, there are no mods to help us on the forum (I am not talking about technical problems), there are no manuals, guides or anything similar. They simply left the job of informing players about game numerous mechanics to themselves.
    Strange policy, this is.

Mods are NOT autorized/allowed to give advice on the forums, they are here to moderate, not advise. GM's are not allowed to give advice in game. They are there to help with game issues, not help you play. I do agree that Trion could/should have provided a users manual/guide. However, they seem to think the community would do that. There are several good wikis available.

Really. Maybe you didn't get the quote? It's from Dirty Dancing and means, they won't be abandoning the game.

"nobody puts Baby in the corner"

Made famous in Dirty Dancing when Johnny gets Baby for the final dance. She's sitting in the corner with her parents, who were mad at her.

Now used when proper attention is not given to a situation but the situation turns out OK anyway. Plus, Fall Out Boy revived it's cult status with their song, "Nobody puts baby in the corner." "

This was an excellent blog. It disgusts me that so many comments are raging at the blog. They admitted to their mistake, they are working on it, what else can we ask of them? Do people really expect that if they rage harder that the next patch will come out better/faster? Half the reason they probably pushed for this patch to come out earlier then it should was because of all the people raging before the patch.

With that said, I have never played on a test live server. I would for this game. Trion has shown they actually pay attention to people's posts and concerns.

Yeah, I know ... I hate Dirty Dancing and it is the last reference I would utilize in any regard to a sci-fi shooter.

People with a bit of sense are upset because the 'press release' is a load of bs. We already knew they would be working on it, would you expect them to just pretend that everything is ok and put all their devs on to a new project? So why tell us what we already know? It's so easy to see that they're just putting this out to calm down the individuals who need reassurance every 10 minutes that Trion are still working on the game.

Mods, devs, CS people, janitors, ... I really don't care how they are called. I prefer to call them CS, but whenever I mention customer service, people here think "technical problems only".
But let's call them officials so there is no further confusion. There are none in game or on the forum to help with anything that is not related to technical problems. Letting the community do all the work for you is not a practice I, personally, would accept as the best.
It can lead to some serious problems as people tend to believe those user created information, and since they have no source to verify that they take it as truth. So later, when they experience problems because of that, official response is not going to be "Ohh, we're sorry you made a mistake as a result of us not providing you with any relevant information. Let us help you and give you those items you lost back, as it was our lack of communication that led you to this situation." Yeah, right.

And furthermore, we are talking about information they ALREADY have. They already know how things are working. Or supposed to. So not providing us with virtually any information is what? Good practice?

Except when they didn't in the original alpha/beta. 120hz monitor says hibro.

He is just trying to evoke pity from their customers (without providing any solid information) so as for them to be more sympathetic to their shortcomings and from the responses I am seeing here it works like a charm
