If you have to restart your character when you want to play in the US from the EU server, I don't understand who would do this?

I have done this on the PC servers. I have 3 chars on the EU shard and one on the NA shard. They don't share EGO but they DO share items. Each time I log in I get to decide which char I want to play.

They may just hold off and merge the 2 servers
I have a lot of friends in the US. So personally I wouldn't have too much of an issue with creating a second character to play with them. Due to the Time Zone I would only be playing for a short time with them anyway; so it may be beneficial to have two characters anyway. One for the UK and another for the US. Although I would prefer to keep the one character I have.

It's quite common when playing mmo's. I've had at least three or so different characters. I don't care if I have to restart. As long as I can interact with people and not feel as if I'm going around the map alone. It's fine.
Hopefully, there wont be a need to restart with a new character, but thanks for the information, it is very much appreciated.
