There are no excuses for this one sorry. Review is spot on.
The reviewer reviewed it as an RPG which it isn't. He reported bugs for platforms that didn't exist. Among other things. So no, not spot on. The reviewer is suspect for the 9.5 given to D3 alone.

What is the problem? If they said a game was good, and I got it... guess what? It was good, and I liked it.

When they said a game I was interested was bad, and I rented it first... guess what? It wasn't good, and I didn't like it.

Their reviews include valid information of the games play style, content, and 'feel'. I don't buy games for popularity, I buy them for how much fun I'll have playing them. Just because you had bad luck doesn't effect MY personal experiences and the validity of their reviews directed towards my preference.

    Here you go http://www.lensoftruth.com/confirmed...egative-score/

next time you want to use IGN as a legit source for reviews just remember they can be bought. Do you really want to buy a game based on a review the company bought?
Ok, This has nothing to do with IGN. Seriously, you posted a link about Gamespot....

    A couple of things:
The game is not in BETA testing. Think about it, you BOUGHT the game... would they sell a game still in beta?
OP, I think you are right on a lot of things here. I agree that IGN did make a lot of good points but at the same time i found myself frustrated with how they came across unprofessional in their review. essentially, enough jokes and BS, I want them to get down to the details. That being said though I usually trust IGN quite a bit with my game purchases and this is the first forum I've been on that seems to hate on IGN so much so you guys have opened my mind to the fact that they may not be the best source overall, but like I said I've trusted them until now and I'm not overly disappointed yet.

I don't think the game is trash yet, in fact I still see huge potential for it but I'm waiting it out for DLC's and updates. That being said there are some huge issues that need to be addressed in the game that seem to be neglected and I would have expected them to fix them by now if they thought they were as serious as people on the forums do. But Hey, they clearly had to rush the game out before the show so I'm going to ride it out and stick with it for now

It bothers me there are people on the planet who can't work out there is no meaningful progress in most MMOs, as if you end up "progressing" to do 5 times as much damage as before, the content appropriate to you is simply scaled up to match that, it is why it is referred to as a hamster wheel, run all you want, in relative terms you don't move.

Nor why systems like that result in awful PvP.

But I guess regardless of that, why does anyone care what a reviewer says, unless a game is utterly broken, whether you enjoy a game is very subjective, if I based my gameplay on what reviewers said, I would be playing a bunch of games I find boring, which is why I and most people I know do not bother with reviews and simply watch streams / lengthy gameplay videos to get a handle on a game we are consdering buying.

The problem is Defiance is stuck on Very Easy and there is no compelling content to tackle with an organized group. Game seems designed for the lowest common denominator. People who want no challenge or variety.

It's not hard to see why the general consensus is that it's mediocre at best.

Are you seriously praising a REVIEW by IGN?I have to say something. If you live by reviews then either you are a person who wants to follow others like sheep or your a person with no sense of individuality.I have played games people despised but I loved them.I liked "The Saboteur".I love both of the new MoH games.I still play MoH:WF.I want to know what year am I in?When did people get so stupid to think their OPINION is FACT?
(Sarcasm mode:ON)So I find Halo 3 boring & full of glitchers. It must be a fact since I have played the entire trilogy of Halo.Halo 3:ODST was the most boring game because it had a already stated & known story with pitiful open world.Damn I am the must be right since I have played them so many times over.(Sarcasm Mode:OFF)
^^^That is your logic which is in every way flawed.

I agree some harder content would be good, though that has nothing to do with character progression or what you quoted. (But then outside of PvP, I think MMOs have been made too easy full stop, the skill ceiling has been massively lowered in games like WoW, Rift, etc where addons play the game for you)
