Why am i am so hooked on this game?

I still raid in rift, but that is all i do. I am kind of dreading the new content in rift. Because that means i need to spend time away from Defiance.

I am not going to quit playing rift either, for one i spent to much time getting into my guild. Secondly, i have quit to many games for another, only to get bored. Then i wish i did not burn my bridges in the other game. Also i paid for a full year of rift.

Rift is a awesome game, but i already beat just about everything.

Are there others who are hooked on defiance? If so, what makes you so addicted?

For me its the lottery system for weapon's, and all the contract's and pursuits. Most of all it is fast paced.

I love the open world, the no-lvl system and dynamic events/pursuits. I am one of the lucky guys that didnt have dcs, bugs etc so iam enjoying Defiance a lot so far!
If only they fix chat and make the PC UI better..

I swear coming back to a Trion game has made me miss my chloromancer so much.
I just wouldn't know what to do after going back to it though.

Edit: I just remembered I have a copy of Storm Legion, I guess that would be a start... Granted, I quit sometime after Ember Isle(I think that was it?) And I know trion was pretty big on monthly major content updates.

I wish I was "addicted" to Defiance, but I only like it and play it for distraction and killing time. It makes me miss a "proper" MMO, but nothing that is currently available appeals (I still miss UO, after sixteen years). I like the feel of the combat, the sandbox (just driving around) and the coop instances. I however grow increasingly frustrated with the lack of a proper loot system and the sheer tedium caused by the poor interface design (loadouts, salvaging, buying keys). The game also feels socially empty, which is actually one of my bigger issues with it. I get more social interaction in SP games with MP features (like Borderlands 2).

I'm hooked, but I wasn't playing anything when this game came out and I hadn't played anything for a good year before Defiance came out. Yeah there are some things that need to be fixed but honestly the content that works keep me hooked so well that I overlook the things that need to be fixed.
@Haigs I honestly don't think that the PC UI will ever be changed, this game was made specifically for consoles that is where it is played most and that is where most the focus is so even though it feels clunky on PC it will feel that way as long as it feels... OK on the console. I think it feels clunky in console too but not as bad as it does for the PC.

I quit too when Ember Isle was released for Swtor. I came back to Rift 2 weeks before SL and caught right on. We have killed everything but regulos (We "should" take him down on sunday".

I suggest going back, there is alot to do. It took me forever to get everything done. I could do a little more but im kind of burnt out. I did it on 2 toons and almost a third.

    Swtor? lol
Thinking of another nigh-monthly content updater?
That I quit when they released black hole stuff. But about the same.

I play on the PC, but i use a xbox 360 controller. I personally think i am better w/ it. Everyone tells me i am gimping myself. But i do alright. I pwn in PvP most of the time. I am usually somewhere on the top for damage on the world events. (Not that it matter's). It felt clunky w/ the keyboard, but feels less clunky on a pc w/ a 360 controller.
