Since the patch I don't really see many people doing emergencies at all. To be honest the only reason I did one earlier was because I was doing a Time Trial in San Fran on one was right in my path with a bunch of tanks and walls right where a race ring was. Annoyed I abandoned the race, murdered some Dark Matter, and started over. Felt better once I got gold though.

But I do have to say I didn't really mind getting the codes from doing the emergencies. I think Trion suddenly realized that their "bits" system wasn't being used enough for lockboxes. Hopefully it still won't. Not getting rewarded for playing the game is a terrible idea. Look at what happened with Mass Effect 3. You had to spend like 4 hours playing multiplayer just to get 1 Random Pack. Or you could use Microsoft Points and just buy the same pack. It's a crappy micro-transaction tactic that just makes the gamer seem like he's not being rewarded for actually playing the game.

*Edit* Removing the keycode reward from emergencies just make them less important to most gamers now which is sad, because before everything had a more balanced sense of urgency. To me anyway.

I understand they don't want people farming them hardcore, but they could atleast give us one keycode per. Or at least a chance for a keycode.

that was one of the things i loved about defiance, was the lottery type system for the lock boxes. Ill be lucky to get a tier 3 box a day w/ 4-5 hours play time. (Then i get frustrated when there are 2 greens and a blue)

getting 4 keycodes from a bug emergency was never intended and was a BUG right from the start. Be happy with all the codes you farmed while they took their time fixing it.

As it was before you were to get 1 keycode and 3 fragments for an emergency. They then removed the fragments from the game entirely and also removed the keycode form emergencies (this is why most emergencies gave nothing). however the bug emergencies were bugged upon release and would still give out the 1 keycode and then in place of the non existing 3 fragments would also add another 3 keycodes.

I was suprised they didnt fix it sooner but to call it a nerf is just wrong it was a bug which was exploited by everyone to gain keycodes much faster then intended.

I do agree they should at least give 1 keycode for those events which spawn many elite mobs during final waves but to think getting 4 codes for running over a few bugs over and over was an intended outcome is just laughable.

They should give 1 per yes, but there should be stricter rules about what you have to do to get one, if you are not within 500m of the emergency when it ends, you should get nada.

1 really is not much, thats 64 emergencies for a single t4 box, and that does take some time.

I think this is someone who doesn't see how much effort is being put into the push towards bit bought lockboxes. Reducing keys from emergencies, some instances, minor and major arkfalls. Minor give you a chance at 1 key, the major give you a chance at 5, min 3. It was always 5 keys from major and 1 from minor. So, why is it laughable that those were also nerfed? And with emergencies actually giving you keycodes it allowed you more than 1 shot a day at a tier 4 lockbox. Not the worst thing ever considering they also nerfed the drop rates in lockboxes.
Hoping for the best, so I can do my worst.

I assume the fastest and easiest way to make sure people would buy lockboxes rather than farming for about an hour would be to fully remove the keycodes from random emergencies. This is just plain mean. I personally think each seperate emergency should give the normal pre-patch amount but have a timer on that specific event. This way people get a reward but can't farm an easy to accomplish one over and over for lets say an hour. You get all your rewards and you are bound per hour to do all the different types of events then it resets. If one hour is bad just adjust to what you think it's worth. It's just plain evil to drop keys as it's taking a week to be able to buy a tier 4 now and i'd rather toss this game in the toilet and pee on it before I spend real money on a random box loot.

pre patch the easy to do bug emergencies were the only ones giving the keycodes as they removed them during beta. the bugs were giving them only because they were bugged emergencies and those who farmed them were spoiled by that bug with a misconception of how frequent the keycodes were intended to be.

its not hard to get more keycodes if you salvage guns and trade in 1k salvage for a keycode. thats only 4 white guns per keycode or just 2 green guns per keycode. its extremely easy still to farm keycodes unless you sell all your guns for scrip...

I recommend salvaging all your greens and whites and selling blue and better. As with the ratio of scrip to salvage on the rarities this would optimize both currencies.

I did mention this would happen (people would stop hanging around in open road areas and run off to do more profitable objectives, which means people aren't seen as often in the open world/road areas). They need to add those key fragments into the roadside events, or at least give 1 keycode drop or a decent chance for keycodes to drop.

The more people stay in open areas, the better it is for the game.
