3 Weeks Later.... No End Game Stuff...

I've never played such a short mmo at release. Defiance has none of the grind that adds artificial life to most mmos. I'm in awe that people can be really shocked there are a lot of unhappy buyers.

In hindsight I am actually not that shocked that people are unhappy. It's because of these same people that the same game gets released over and over that's just a cookie cutter of the previous game. So this game isn't wow/cod/halo, THANK GOD for that.

Just to touch on a point no one else has mentioned. They already have a season pass available to buy boasting 5 DLC packs. Meaning Those dark map sections around Mt Tam will become available over time. San Fran isn't the last questing area.

I could never see me playing defiance even a month from now. I work and go to school with a social life so I don't take off time to play. i hope trion fixes the pvp. as it stands now. im constantly getting shot out of stealth by players who i am coming at from behind... at first i thought i was being careless and stealthing to late. then i started watching the videos of the cheats out now for this game.... nope, wasnt carelessness. its the fact that people can see you no matter if you are in stealth or not. you get a nice shiny red box placed around you. thats just the beginning.. if trion doesnt start cracking down now early in the game, legit players who like to pvp will leave shortly once they figure out all of the cheating going on now in pvp.

Once you step back a pace from the mindless "this isn't wow or cod"nonsense then what are you left with?

You are happy that Defiance doesn't reward time invested with strength. You don't want a game where characters increase in power or versatility. There are no game changing unlocks (seriously perks do very little).

All you're telling me is that you like shallow and casual friendly game experiences. MMOs really need consistent player numbers or else you lose both of the M's.

Personally, my EGO is over 850. I've beaten the game and just over 30 of the pursuits. By the end of week I expect to be at 44. Yeah, pvp sucks. So do the buggy co-op missions. I can't find any good weapons or mods, but like they said, the game just came out.

MMO's are a different class of game. Based on your previous comment, I'm guessing you never encountered one before. Let me break it down into tiny pieces for you. Ready?

MMO's are a constantly evolving game. Launch for one of these is fraught with problems. Often it can take several weeks or even months to get the game bugs and glitches 100% gone (depending on the size of the dev team.)

While they're getting all that worked out, players will have beaten their game three times over on multiple characters, which is why they roll out a new patch every other week.

In a few months they'll prolly move beyond just a few pursuits, but at least it gives you something to do.

To rephrase, MMO's are NOT a boxed game you buy at the store like Fallout, or Forza. They constantly build and evolve upon themselves. Three weeks after launch? Of course the game has problems. I give them credit for fixing so many bugs in that last patch.

Did those small bites taste good? Now go back and play your Fallout and Forza (I think they're beginning to wonder if you're cheating on them), we certainly won't miss you.

I love the whiners who get on, and complaine about OMG I did everything in 1 week, because I took a week off to play a GAME. Now I am going to whine and whimper because I did everything faster than the developers planned on. I imagine you are one of those players who gets a new game, max levels out in 1 or two weeks then moves on to the next game because there is no End game content to a BRAND NEW GAME that just came out.

My advise, hit the off button, go outside and play in the fresh air. Gaming is a recreation not a life.

Honestly I think I could get at least 800 ego in under 10 hours of playing, EGO rating means very little in this game as most of it is how many pursuits you've done up to the 1500 or so mark. With a little help from friends you could go for pursuits and clear tam, madera and marin in a few hours, next hour clearing all the vehicle pursuits on rollers and the time trials, after that quickly spam the social pursuits. The enemy grous are up next and just involve a little travelling. Co-op maps are another easy 100+ EGO that can be done in about 90minutes all together, you see where I'm going with this?

No end game other than grind, tv tie in content looks to be just a few lame contracts, first PDLC looks like it will take months to show up for a zone that you can travel from one end to the other in a minute or two, patches break more things than fix, and now cheaters are starting to take over mean while the devs are silent...er being 'coy' in their term. Lookin good!
