If you approach this game as a MMO shooter first and foremost, you should enjoy the game.
If you are looking for an MMORPG, you are better off looking elsewhere or come back and ask this question a year later. Currently the content is like 5% of what GW2 has. (But the combat is 10x better frankly)

I've had a lot of fun with this game despite the complaints of others. I don't understand what the problem is for so many people. I still have not been able to blow through the content and have played a couple hours a day for the last two weeks. So far it seems they add some new content every week after an episode and it can be fun/challenging to complete the pursuits.
I recommend playing with a friend, the game play becomes much more fun. This is especially true if you both use strategy when clearing out areas.
Time for anyone thinking of purchasing the game to wait and wait. The game will be a $9.99 special in a month at this rate.
I have never seen a game go from playable to fair then bad to worse in such a short period of time.

Hello Everyone!
To shed some light on where I have been, I have indeed been playing Defiance
I played for about 4 hours yesterday, and here are some of my first impressions:
1. It was really cool to see the TV show characters in the game (I haven't seen the show yet, but I knew it was them), it gives a subtle, yet powerful way of merging two pieces of content.
2. Borderlands, Borderlands, Borderlands.. Ya'll were right, the loot system is like Borderlands.. AND I FREAKIN' LOVE IT!
3. I have done a few quests, and I have to say repetition is definitely there, just like all MMO's.. but I get so absorbed in shooting enemies with my awesome guns that it doesn't even matter.
4. I purchased a Tier 2 lockbox just for kicks, and got some pretty sick weapons out of it, I think I am already addicted. I like how the salvage mechanic is an easy way to acquire the resources necessary to purchase lockboxes.
5. I did an Arkfall event, it was pretty awesome! I am looking forward to the bigger ones where there is a GIANT boss creature, that sounds EPIC!
6. In terms of bugs, I haven't really noticed anything game breaking.. maybe in time. But even with that being said I am going to be so absorbed in pew-pewing everything in sight that I won't give a care!
7. That's pretty much all I have explored, and I can say that even with only playing 4 hours my score for this game is higher than what was described to me. I think Trion will continue to fix and add content until it feels 100% right.
I have a couple questions though:
1. How do I obtain my Collectors Edition items? I have the 30 day EXP and stuff, but not the weapons or outfits, or anything else.
2. Is there generally a lot of people online? I haven't seen a ton of people in the world, I have this odd feeling I am looking in the wrong place.
3. Someone told me to put in some Arkfall codes to get rewards, where and how do I do that?
That's pretty much it! If someone could answer these questions that would be awwwweeeeesoooome

3-Go there log in and enter the code.

3. Someone told me to put in some Arkfall codes to get rewards, where and how do I do that? On the Defiance main page you will see "my Ego" tab click that and that will take you to the Arkfall code page. oh just for you a gift click on the link and you will get all 120 Arkfall codes.

Go to the menu screen, click the little menu wheel in the bottom left corner and then click the shopping basket in the middle bottom slot of the wheel, you should see many unclaimed items, click on those to claim them.
