Nim was difficult for me, not that I ever mentioned that before now, but reading the perks the OP had, I seem to be "underleveled" which is what i assumed when I was getting my *** kicked, I only have 4 perk spots unlocked I think I am at ego 450.

I like that he feels tough at this point and he should, I have not upgraded my weapons in a long time, as I have not had the need to, and I am more of a Hard core RPG gamer than a shooter, so again I did not really expect to win yet, heck I have at least 75 side missions on the map for me to do.

So my overall perspective with an RPG metaphor, I am a level 45 rogue trying to beat the level 100 end game(currently) boss, and I am sure there are a lot of people that are equally "leveled" that are complaining about it. At this point for where I am at, I would be disapointed if I beat him, honestly. I got lucky with my dodges on his first stage and could probably beat the second one, got him down to like 10% on one go, but my wife needed me so I figured I would just "level" up some more and get those weapons I have been eying in the reputation vendors.

TLR; Yeah he is tough, if you are under leveled, and don't have good gear, strategy, or skills.

I haven't beat him yet. Going on 8 times now, but I figured I was under leveled so I've been doing all my pursuits and getting the things I need. I'm about ready to try and tackle him again. Do I think he needs to be nerfed? Not at all. The challenge is what makes it fun.

Pretty sure OP is some 13 year old kid who has nothing better to do at all. Now from my perspective, I don't play shooter games on PC at all, and maybe it's easy for this kid to beat Nim because he is on a console, and console games tend to make things a lot easier than playing on PC. The difference between a PC gamer and a console gamer is that a PC gamer has to use a lot more concentration, if you are like me and you use a basic mouse and a keyboard, you don't get the luxury of having your hands having an = purpose, where as your left hand has to do 3 times the amount of things rather then having it even. Now say if I were on a console playing Defiance, I wouldn't have to think at all, it'll take a hell of alot less skill to beat nim and a lot less concentration. With a mouse and keyboard, your movement is more restricted. Whether it is sprinting, vaulting, crouching etc.

So in a nut shell, If you are having trouble with Nim on PC, I understand your pain, If you are having trouble on console. Well, to sum things up. You should stop playing videogames in general.

I'm sorry but people saying I have more of an MMO background you lack an excuse as to why you thought it was hard. I suck at shooters but still find this boss to be insanly easy for a final boss. It is all MMO mechanics in the fight. This is what I hate about mainstream MMO's now everyone knows how they are supposed to do a fight in a raid boss because they just watch a video for it. Do you think the first person in there thought it was easy? Hell no they wiped countless times to bring you that how to down Xmonster video until that group got it on lockdown.

In all honesty the people that are not having issues went in knowing OK this is a boss fight it's not going to be easy I'm gonna have to do things outside the normal shoot the guy. They approached it as a puzzle and broke down what they had to do after experiencing something once or twice. I one shot the boss at like 800ego or so wasn't hard at all. He has multiple phases and there is even time to notice phase changes and go hrm based on the way this looks I should probably do X now.

Like some of the others have said in this thread, Nim is fine as he is. Little difficult at first, but once you whip out your MMO skills of trial and error/watching his tactics, he's pretty easy to manage. Kind of disappointing really. This coming from a guy who died like 10 times from him.

Two tips when fighting him: If you hang around the edges of the arena (preferably on the left cause your character is right handed), there are pillars that you can soft cover from his attacks. Plus the ammo is just on the other side, so if you ever run out, just mosey on over and grab some. Then, never ever roll dodge. The entire game has been teaching you to roll dodge out of harms way but one, it doesn't make you immune to damage, and two, Nim is faster than Bankai'ed Ichigo on crack (at least from the roll's perspective). Just run out of the way of everything.

First time I fought Nim, I was knocked down once.
second time, i had to extract once.

You can't make this guy easier - it just wouldn't be right...

I have also seen a seasoned shooter veteran have problems with jack leg Joe, (the guy you have to have the little flame thrower guys to blow up underneath to destroy the shield) and he's still going on the 15th attempt or something...

So, I think it might have something to do with sobriety, age, and hand/eye skills.

    (Edit)
I am on PC. I don't think it would be possible for me to beat this guy on xbox. I just don't like console gaming controllers and am a slave to the keyboard/mouse getup.

I totally disagree with the OP. NIM is not easy I was stuck on him for over a month and never want to play a boss that stupid again. Grats to all of you who have "SKILLS" lol and beat him first time round. But that fight is seriously out of wack.
