I thought it was average, a little cheese. Not as good or interesting as the superior Firefly or Battlestar series but I still enjoyed it. Hope it gets better. Still not sold 100%

I enjoyed it, thought the pilot got better as it went on, definitely has potential and i'm looking forward to seeing where it goes.

I loved the show then again most of the shows on syfy I've enjoyed;
Being Human
Warehouse 13
Sanctuary
Lost Girl
Stargate SG-1
Stargate Atlantis
So I thoroughly enjoyed watching it and hope it sticks around for a good while. Incidentally unlike a lot of others on this forum I abhorred Stargate Universe I thought it was actually the worse one of the 3 SG series.
I thought it was very good... not like the bestest show ever but defintely a lot above average...
I'll probably get flamed to hell for this, but I preferred it to Firefly. Having said that, Firefly was never really my thing (although it was enjoyable enough), while Defiance is more my style.
So yeah, I did enjoy it. Best thing ever? No, but it was way more than average and I will definitely be watching the rest of it.![]()
Still too early for me to say exactly, but I like what I've seen so far, so I'm definitely gonna keep watching.
More shameful than your death is your SAAAAASS!
It was ok. I hope it gets better.
It is going to depend greatly on the production values. They were obviously high for the pilot, and that has me somewhat concerned. The biggest actor is the world itself, and if it quickly devolves into the standard ship in the bottle staple so common to the genre. I am just not too sure about the ensemble having the cohesiveness it needs. To create a compelling narrative without the large action scenario presented in the Pilot.
The series isn't presenting itself as procedural, cerebral, or psychological, but purely action oriented. I am having a hard time seeing the series itself being true to the Pilot. I thought the Pilot was above average, but it was more of a movie about the Universe, and most of the characters presented didn't impress me all that much outside of Alissa and Nolan. I am getting a distinctly Babylon 5 kind of vibe, and that can be both good and bad. That series took a while to get up to speed, but it did that on what amounted to a shoestring budget. Of coarse those characters started off being far less petty.
I enjoyed watching pilot. Will definitely carry on watching to see what happens next. Never really watched a syfy series before. Decided to give it a try as am really loving the game.
