While the romeo and Juliet thing made me cringe i loved the rest, there's just so much potential with this IP, so many aspects i can't wait to see and learn more about from earth's new ecology to the votan generational divide and the million things inbetween.
I'm now going to start running a shout this last line over my shoulder in fear of a lynching but if they keep it up i'm going to like this more than firefly.

I enjoyed it alright, thought it had too much plot and not enough development. There really was no need to have a major assault on Defiance in the first episode. I would have preferred to get to know characters more rather than an action sequence that I wasn't really invested in too much. If this attack was later on then there could have been actual stakes, like characters dying off, but you knew it was all gonna be fine in the first episode so there wasn't much tension.

That said, it could go well from here, it certainly has set up a volatile world with things hanging pretty delicately. Will see how it progresses...

I thought the show was great once it got going. While Battlestar Galactica was a great show, it didn't really hook me until after the first or second season.
