Yeah, I went into a spot just actually exploring for what I thought was a hidden vendor.

Instead, got into 30 minutes of firefight helping out some Ark Hunters there on a mission. Since I was in the wrong place, time well spent.

Personally if I see a purple dot and hear some gunfire - I pull over to help. That's not something common in most games, afaik

I wonder if its the chat system that makes PUG's better? almost no chat so no one moans, everyone just gets on with it.
lol, I hadn't thought about it that way, you are right though. Pobabaly makes the experience better not having to listen to people whine.

Also not have set roles is nice, like you don't have to wait for a tank, or heals or whatever.

Yeah I am the same way, it is nice. People don't get upset like you are stealing their kills or whatever, they are just thankful for the help.

You are right about most games, in most mmo people get upset and think you are kill stealing. :/

I'm sorry, but the co-op missions are a nice diversion but a challenge they are not. No communication of any sort, voice or otherwise, is necessary. No consideration of loadouts is necessary.

So what? Personally, I'm thankful no communication is required. Soooo tired of people yelling about people not having mics just so that they can yell at them WITH mics.

No consideration of loadouts? I'm not even sure what you mean by that. I pick the loadout I want based on what I'm tinkering with at the time. Also, yay.

And it's funny - I keep seeing people say how much these missions aren't a challenge, and yet I'm still reviving people left and right. Motherlode in particular can be brutal at times.

This thread must be some feeble attempt at astroturfing. When I can run Motherlode repeatedly while leveling one of the crappiest weapons in the game and not be a hinderance to my team, then the game's co-op is a joke.

    With no mods.

    With garbage perks.

With blur, so I could complete the pursuit.

With the ****tiest green gun in my inventory with a joke base mod, because I'm leveling it.

The co-op is an interesting diversion, but it is not a challenge. I've never wiped in a co-op, and I am not some badass player that carries groups. I have never had to think about how to finish a fight, I have never had to make multiple attempts to figure out an encounter. I have never been told, by the game, "No, you haven't figured this out yet."

That last point: "You haven't figured this out yet" is the definition of challenge. You can get carried through any co-op in this game just pretending to look busy the entire time. Your group will finish the co-op if you care or if you don't because of that lack of challenge.

To add insult to all of this, I have completed every pursuit related to co-op without doing more than a google search for data recorders. All of the event-based objectives happened on their own.

You've never died in Motherlode? You don't find the choke point with a Blacklung and and two GoldRushers at all difficult. OK then.

Yes, if you wanted to you could just sit at the first spawn point and wait there and eventually your team will finish the map. Yes, you could stand in the corner and just spectate. That doesn't mean coop isn't fun. Perhap you'd prefer it if the game kicked you out of the map after your first revive - but I'm rather glad it doesn't.

Honestly, the core of this game is coop. If you're not enjoying that, I really don't know why you're here.

i love the shooting too, it's the closest to a counter-strike game any other shooter that i know of has. i hate how CoD and bf3 recoil seem more random, and in CS there is a pattern so if you get really skilled you can control the pattern and thus the recoil

I have never wiped. My group has never failed. For co-op to be considered a challenge, my group should have failed at least occasionally.

As for fun, I haven't denied that. It's an amusing diversion (short-lived) but it is not a co-op challenge.
