If anything it wasn't harsh enough.
D3's story seemed like it was thought up by a child. The gameplay mechanics were worse and all he did during everyone of his photos was eat a corndog and say "Working as intended." There were death threats on the forum within two weeks of D3 launching for this guy. It was a scary time lol.

Millions still play it everyday apparently, so as much as it's popular to hate on d3: at least it did/does not have massive game breaking bugs. Blizzard actually polishes their turd, trion hands it to us fresh for money and then makes excuses about it.

    Everytime I think of D3 I weep.
You have those moments when you have a highly anticpated game come out... and it sucked in comparison to the one before it!
    So dissapointed...

Actually not as many play it as you might think. A majority are simply botters looking to make money on the RLAH or people using a three box tool to control four characters at once to what else? Make money on the RLAH. The game turned from entertainment into a job and the funny thing? Blizzard gets a cut. They are marketing wizards.

Not only that, but the apology didnt come until they went through several months of basically denying anything was wrong, insisting they know best and that they created the best thing ever, and trying to shut down any criticism and legitimate discussion / suggestions on how it could have been fixed or could be improved in the future. You know, standard protocol for most dev teams. The whole god complex thing and denying they could have ever possibly screwed something up.

Luckily there are still a couple of companies around who havent fallen into that routine. Think Trion is really about the only AAA dev around like that, but there are a lot of good indies out there who know and can admit they screw up.

But then you have other indies like AV... "We're launching DFUW in 1 week (back in October) we swear. No we didnt do a beta. We did thorough internal testing".... launch day comes "Just kidding. We are starting beta today instead!"... communicate well for 1-2 weeks, then remain silent for 2-3 weeks at a time without so much as a "Hey we are working on these issues / improvements"..... 7 months of beta later... "We're launching, for real this time".... still a bunch of the same issues.

What was that saying that D3 players were saying for a while? It was his name...it was basically saying "Trolled" but his name. I can't remember it for the life of me.

If nobody played the RLAH wouldnt make money, so your point kind of shows that there are still a lot of people playing and using the RLAH...

BOTS run and make get the items. Player logs in and sells the items on the RLAH. If that is playing to you...then I am not sure what to tell you. D2 did the same thing but sold the items over various websites, including Ebay.

PEOPLE have to buy the items though. Which is the whole point. Unless one guy is buying everything off the RLAH, the game still has a sufficient playerbase to make people WANT to run bots to make profit. They wouldnt run bots if it was dead and making them no money. The game still has a decent sized playerbase. Not as much as release, but theres still a fair amount.
