Never said no one played it xD. Just that a majority were botters ^.^. I encountered one or two when I was playing my wizard and they are fairly meh to me.

I'm pretty desensitized to bots from RuneScape back in the day, and I tend to play my MMOs antisocially anyhow.

Well, it may be "a lot" of players in pure numbers, but relatively speaking it isnt. Even given that Blizzard has confirmed (as of March 2013) they have approx. 1m players active daily, yes thats more than most MMOs. So in that respect, sure its a lot. But in comparison to the initial 10million plus copies of it that they sold within like the 1st month (way more than any MMO), thats not many at all. They were up to 12 million sales at the end of 2012. Even at 1 million players, it has still lost about 92% of players who bought it. Thats pretty terrible. I dont think even SWTOR, WAR, STO, or various other big IP games that were largely considered to be flops lost over 90% of their players in less than a year.

In comparison, Diablo 2: Battle Chest was still reaching top 10 PC sales lists up to 2010 (10 years after Diablo 2 released), continued receiving pretty universal praise and "best ever" awards even as recently as 2009, and there are still 11 million players between Diablo 2 and Starcraft playing on Battlenet. So even if we were to assume only 10% of that 11 million were on Diablo 2 and not Starcraft (not true at all, its actually higher, just using the 1+million to make the point)... thats as many as Diablo 3, and its around 13 years old.

Its the only MMO on a console, and im happy, fair enough there is bugs and glitches, but for an mmo on a console, its in new waters.

Par a few remakes of stuff like PSU, there isn't many original MMO's for consoles (i use the term many very strictly).

I love the community (this game its totally better playing with other people), the devs are always talking to the community, and this game has great potential.

So many people just spend there time crying about this... you think any more are going to be made if you just slate the game. Personally i wanna see more MMO's for the consoles, but defiance will always be that game i go back to (not that i have gone anywhere xD)

Yep, and Final Fantasy XIV's was a pretty epic apology, with the original development team all being _fired_ and the game itself actually being removed from the market! FF XIV 2.0, redesigned from the ground up (but almost certainly still crappy), is having its 2nd beta test weekend now.

I'm glad that Defiance's team is apologizing, though. The game has great ideas and nice potential but it's really a shell of what it should be now. Am I having fun playing it? Yup. But I can sympathize with the folks who feel like they were sold a bill of goods...it's nothing like what it could, should, or would be.

Path of Exile makes a far better game anyway. Face it, D3 is doomed.

Nice to hear the developers have apologized about the rushed release of the patch though.

Ah, the apology for the game not even being able to be played.... thought you were referring to the one which came much more recently where they basically apologized for creating that entire disgrace of a Diablo game and said they are going to try to improve it.
