Dark Matter Monolith

3 days ago, figured I should do the bridge achievement. So I am rolling up to the bridge and saw the Monolith "sleeping". Ha! If I am fast enough with my boost I can zip on by. So I do that and... BOOM! Knocked back a good distance while it is wailing on me with a plasma cannon, which I ducked behind a rock and remained "safe" for the time I was there. Other people clearly saw I was his main target and decided to cloak and go underneath... BOOM! They are soon being revived by me. I spent a good 20 mins trapped behind that rock laughing to no end as others were demonstrating the definition of insanity. I decided I had enough and roll out and start firing at it like a genius and it launched me into the bay.

When I have one of those moments I feel like not doing any missions or there are no active arkfalls, I drive on down there with a sniper rifle, take aim and unload while shouting obscenities at my screen. The Monolith will just wake up, look at me with that evil look it has like it is trying to say, "problem?" and not fire. I mute my mic every time so people who are trying to brave the Monolith don't think, "Wow, something is wrong with that guy!". Trust me, I already know...

So... uh... How do I kill it?

impossible to kill I think, have to do story missions

Yeah, just give up trying to kill it outside of the missions. Continue with the main story and once you hit Act IV, at the end of the missions in that Act, you'll have a cutscene in which you will get to take it out.

Pretty much beginning of Act 5, you'll figure it out!

:P Just do the story, then you can cruise the bridge to your hearts content!

Yeah but watch out for landmines on the San Fran side of the bridge...if you drive too slow your vehicle will blow up and then you'll be in the crossfire of like 6 Dark Matter snipers...had that happen to me the first time I crossed the bridge...was trying to avoid hitting a wrecked car after splattering some Dark Matter guys when MY car was the one that got wrecked, next thing I know I see crisscrossed red sight lines all over me, then I'm dead...O.O
