    Fix the Challenger motor

It noise is just grinding on my brain.
It is too high pitched. make it much lower and more base in it.

Have none of you ever hear a Dodge motor? Didn't they at least let you hear one running?

Must have been the 6 cylinder

That's what the new Challenger sounds like, they had one in the "office" to record the actual sounds from.

Yeeeeah, then the one that had was an RC car, I've heard the new Challenger in person with my own ears... not even close.

    This game has sound?!

Seriously, I turned off everything but voices. My music sounds better.

    Definitely not a Challenger motor.

As a former test driver with Roush, having worked under the Chrysler / Fiat contract, and living in the Metro-Detroit area, I assure you that game engine-sound does not do the real deal justice. Even the idle seems a bit square. The Challenger has a beautiful exhaust note - a very round, deep, full bodied sound that you feel more than you hear. I can understand that they may want to make it sound a bit more futuristic, but the high frequencies that rip through my speakers when driving around do tend to kill the power feeling.

FOR TRION: My brother received his Masters in Performing Arts from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in Sound Design and Production (or something of the sort - I am not quite sure of the title). He has expressed great interest in getting into the video game industry in this field. If the event should occur where you would desire some different engine samples for use in defiance I am sure he would be of great help. Additionally we are living together in the Metro-Detroit (Literally 5 minutes from Chrysler World HQ and the famous Woodward Ave.) area so finding a Challenger to sample would be a very easy task. Please message me directly if you would like to discuss this further! Thanks for your consideration.

Hahaha who cares what a car sounds like...this isn't one of those racing game where they need the EXACT sound of the vehicle. Over time the cars started to sound like that b.c of the environment if that helps you out any.

After the Pale Wars, a huge cache of relatively well preserved and undamaged Dodge Chargers was discovered in terraformed caverns under the surface of what was once Detroit. The nitrogen rich subterranean environment preserved the vehicles largely as they were the day of their final assembly, which explains the remarkable condition of the frames and bodies. The Earth Republic outfitted these vehicles with Votan power plants and heavy suspension to survive the rugged conditions of the new frontier. Rafe McCawley purchased one of these cars from the Earth Republic and presented it as a gift to the town. The Charger is now the signature vehicle of the Lawkeeper of Defiance.

The Lawkeeper Charger runs on standard petrohol with an octain rating of 140 which is the optimum "high test" burning medium for this hybrid turbine. 70 liters of petrohol delivers 900 km. range in this modified vehicle with a peak horsepower of 370. It is 4 wheel drive and capable of sustained climbing a 50 degree sand bank in its present configuration. The exterior shell is hardened and the vehicle is much tougher and durable than it was when it was unearthed at the termination of the Pale Wars.
    It runs on magic.

Telling someone how they can improve is 200% more helpful then telling someone that they need to improve.

I have no idea what a challenger really sound like IRL, but I don't use mine ingame, as they simply do to much noise.

OK. So regardless how the recording was done, it definitely is not doing the muscle cars of old any justice. And I can't help but wonder if something got lost during the recording/processing work. Don't get me wrong. I'm not doubting the dev's talent. Just the software/hardware. What we hear, and what the software/hardware recorded could be 2 different things sometimes. Please, add that deep gutteral sound back in that sounds like music to my ears.
