For those bashing on the Angry Joe or IGN review

Poo-poo any individual reviews you like. Consensus on Metacritic among reviewers is the game is an embarassment after the Rift launch.

Nah, thats not enough. I was told earlier that im paroting the reviews, even though ive had these opinion about Defiance waaaayyyyy before the reviews came out.

I think thats something people need to recognize, if a fanbase has been beating Defiance to a pulp about lack of content, bugs and overall shallow gameplay, then 1wk later, the reviewers comment on the samething, how do you explain that???

ill help:

1. IGN didnt get a proper payment from Trion!
2. AJ came to the forums and just copy and pasted all the bad replies.
3. Defiance had no buisness getting reviewes the same way all other games get reviewed. They should have waited, that way, ti allows more people to buy the game, population grows, and as long as they dont complain on the forums, we wont tell them to shut up and quit.

i agreed with it but i love the game anyway! i also thought the game was "surprisingly fun" albeit the simplicity haha, everyone says that

This is the problem. People would rather have someone else tell them if something is good or bad for them. I would have missed a lot of movies and games I love if I followed what other people thought.

I base games on my own judgment.

he brings up all the criticisms everyone else has but he comes to a different conclusion than myself. He sees a bunch of minor problems in a unique and innovative game and calls it a failure but to me it's growing pains. The fundamentals of the game are there they're unique and they're fun. It's a sandbox MMO something that people have been clamoring for forever don't be too quick to write it off.

I couldn't DISAGREE more... Why is it okay when an MMO launches full of glitches, huge flaws ( They made combat data client-side FOR **** SAKE... They brought the hacks on themselves by being bad at coding the game... ) and overall bad performance ? It's that kind of attitude that makes other MMO developers release unfinished products because the community ''defends us anyway, they expect the game to be broken for 6 months before it's playable...They give us a 6 months paid beta, lol the idiots''



I don't get the comparison, but I thought Angry Joe's review was 80-90% spot on for the game we have RIGHT NOW on our hard drive, which is what he reviewed...

Wow, you make it seem like their is a glitch every second, I have played 50 plus hours and maybe i've encountered 2-3 glitches.

I think you underestimate how much information goes into a good mmo. I am no fan boy, if a MMO is bad i will call it. But this MMO is amazing, and does not deserve to be bashed because of a few bugs/glitches.

If the game is so bad, why do you still troll the boards?

Means something if it's the majority's opinion. And I wouldn't say Angry Joe ''knows nothing'', I would say I don't agree with his opinion and that's my right, just like it's his right to have whatever opinion he wants. We're not all savages you know ?



Where did he avoid talking about the good parts of the game ?

He pointed out the VAST amount of glitches ( true )
Said the UI was clunky on PC ( true )
Said the game felt like a shadow of what it could be ( true )
Said there is not much content for a MMO ( true )
He pointed out the repetitive nature of the PvE ( true, but that's basically true for all MMOs...maybe it would be less dull if there was actually more than 4 types of arkfalls... )
He said there were hackers ( I think?, and true )
Said he kept playing it even with the glitches because the gameplay and combat are good (true)

I don't see what was wrong with that review, honestly... It's a review, it is subjective by nature... It's not news... He's not reporting a fact, he's reporting his opinion about the game and if people had half a brain, they would listen to the review and make their own opinion... But the review he made is exactly the game I played, so I don't know why everyone is going around bashing his review...

He was reporting what he thought would get the most hits on his video, im sorry but majority of the bugs he had i haven't experienced, yes there are some but it was more than likely something to do with his **** pc which is why hes prolly angry. The guy is a hack and should stick with reviewing single player games because he seems to not have a clue when it comes to mmos. Also for people posting about the patch on the 15th, when was it ever stated it would be a big content patch? It wasn't one of the dlc, it was a patch to fix some issues and release some content for the show. I think people are to used to playing other games to understand what defiance is, most are used to playing fps or mmorpgs or both, which this is neither of those. I read several reviews and some were negative, i still bought the ultimate edition, played the game and was left wondering wtf these people were talking about, it seemed as if they were playing a completely different game. But that's me, i don't try and hype myself up, and i don't play a game expecting it to be something its not.

So all games are reviewed after they are released to the public, when people can purchase these games with their hard earned cash. But for some reason, mmo's are different and should NOT be reviewed upon launch? What a bunch of bull that is. MMO's aren't given some magic get out of jail free card - it's a video game like any other that is charging an equal fee to play it as any other game on the market. People reviewing the game NOW are reviewing the game as it is NOW. If it changes in 6 months people can opt to do a new review then if they want to, but it doesn't change the fact of what reality is right NOW and we aren't playing in the future people.

It isn't an mmorpg nor is it intended to be one. Think thats where people make the mistake when they view the game. It is a TPS first, and an MMO second, i think that is also why people complain about the UI, they just cant grasp the idea that this is not an MMORPG. Think BF3 but instead of 1 server with 64 people playing on a small map, 1 server with unlimited players on a huge map and fighting NPC instead of players to gain xp.
