Weapon XP during Arkfalls?

I was under the impression (due to many Forum post) - That Weapon XP was disabled during Arkfalls.

Well today, I spammed about 5 Arkfalls back to back that just kept popping up. Massive groups doing the same, so they went down quickly. However, I've gained 2 AR levels during the Arkfalls.

Unsure if the Actual Weapon (damage XP) is leveling, but the actual Assualt Rifle Class is in fact, Leveling.

Has it always been like this? Or have I just been misinformed by various post?

Edit; After doing a few more Arkfalls, it doesnt give the Weapon XP (Damage Bar) But, gives the Weapon Class XP. Wish I would of know about this earlier. Gah..

I'm on (un patched) PS3 and have always gotten weapon XP during Arkfalls, I just assumed the people saying otherwise were wrong or on a different platform.

i have a problem i can be first at an arkfall and kill load of bugs and destory end bug and on the leader bored 0 xp damage 0
