Why teraform a habitable planet?

i know when you move in a place you like to change it ...but the point is more WHY move in THIS place from way over there when they obviously have the know how to teraform a planet with magical spires

and the natives obviously didnt want them here in the first place!!

Something in the pilot bugged me. When Nolan describes Irisa Nyira as his daughter the mayor replies "she looks pureblood" which suggests that interbreeding with humans is possible and accepted. Assuming they put some thought into how unlikely that is, it makes you wonder

the human coalition will execute you if you interbreed with the aliens and all offspring will be burnt to cleanse it from this earth.

the quote from irisa about nolan saying "this planet has no native inhabitants" is about it being no longer the earth of human days it is a new hybrid planet with none of the inhabitants being compleatly familiar with it

I found this notion from the show to be really stupid.

Just because someone come to my house and burn it down doesn't mean that the land, which I have land title to, is now public domain.

If so I think the act of burning down other people's house so they can steal their land would be a very popular act. lol.

@KeevanSixx: Thank you for that very specific summary. Like the OP I've had difficulty hammering some of the details of the story. Could you if possible go into more details on the Pale Wars? Also, were all of the Votan races on one planet?
