Does anybody have a feeling this game will be dead on arrival ?

Don't read gaming magazines and don't watch syfy channel they have crappy shows mostly in my opinion. but to be honest I can't even think about 1 advert for this game i saw anywhere hmm

a few days ago i saw an ad for defiance on the xbox dashboard or home what ever they calling it now and the a syfy app, i remember a time when it was called si~fi

Judging by the number of 360 pre-orders which stands at 32k in my opinion this doesn't look 2 bright. I know that many people do not pre order and just go buy product but still for a MMO and 2 weeks launch window this looks extremely poor-ish

My mates getting it and people from the xbox community thread have added me as a friend on xbox live which is cool, this game is something new a breath of fresh air im looking forwards to being part of a growing community, I know this game will offer something that a lot of people have been looking for on console.

I saw one on fox a few weeks ago....thats why I'm here...it was the commercial for the game, not the show, so it got my interest peaked when I knew the show was coming, but not a game for it.

I'm actually hoping it doesnt get AAA title styled community, that usually leads quickly to trolls and angry, stupid kids complaining it isnt as good as CoD. Lets hope it sits at a slightly smaller community, More people is good, but not when 80% of them are ******-bags.

I have nothing but good feelings about this game..kinda like the build up of anticipation for Mass Effect-which turned out to be an amazing game.
I think Defiance will be a quieter hit than traditional AAA titles, and i think it will go on to be a cult classic.

Agreed, and I think a lot of people will be holding back to see how it does on console in the first week. (Especially 360 as they're isn't really anything to compare it to). I don't think this is the type of game that needs to worry about first week sales as it will gradually pick up a decent sized cult following.

Here here! Cult games are always less successful, but have a great following. I mean, Star Trek and Star Wars were cult followed until they hit more limelight recently. Now look at them, both box office hits and huge names. Household names you might even call them. Here is to hoping Defiance end up that way after some time.

I know its a sleeper-hit. Premium MMOs arent that common and this is shooter and tv-show. Not to mention timing is perfect again, all big things are in the past and ESO isnt even coming until later this year.

People told the same crap about Rift, and guess what its still sub-based game and made tons of money for TW.

Btw, you Xbox guys should be happy Defiance is climbing up from Amazon's top 100. Nothing on PC and PS3 yet. Amazon is one of the biggest sellers, if it doesnt reach top 10, its fail.
