Advancing...in the game..

Hi,
I am new to Multi player type games (basically) I did play Dungeons and Dragon Onliine for two years, but the game setup different.
I have been playing Defiance for a couple of days now...but not sure what I'm doing...
I have a few objectives to do but don't know how to get there or if they are quests to complete..I am in Tam region right now...co-op..
I have to get to an east region but don't know if I just hop on my vehicle and drive there or if you get there from a quest?

early on you drive to the main or episode missions. Once you start completing missions, you can pull up the map and there will be blue fast travel markers and just select which one will get you close to your objective.

Ok thanks...guess driving beats running...I am slowly getting the hang of this game...slow but sure...mostly doing it by myself...alone...
