Not cross-console, what about split-screen?

I don't know if this has been asked (If it has I apologize) yet, but me and my husband just watched the live stream from today and we were wondering. We plan on getting a copy for both PC and our PS3, my brother is also getting it for PS3.

No cross-console means, my husband can't join us in a game if he is playing on the PC and me and my brother are on the PS3 version. Granted it's been years since either of us have played games like Halo but if we remember right you were able to have 2 people play on the one system in a split-screen.

So for Xbox and PS3 users will there be a split-screen option for people who don't run more than one of one type of game system (Xbox or PS3) in their homes?

I don't think anybody ask that question before and i don't think we will know for sure unless someone from Defiance say there is or not in the game . but i personally think they wont be any split screen, games nowadays are rare with split screen and even more a MMO =/

i don't think this has been mentioned in any dev chat.
split screen greatly reduces screen real estate and being a tactical game i cant see it working, because i know game like cod you share the unlocks of the main account but being a mmofps with individual characters i cant see that working, your best bet would be to system link but then again you may not have 2 ps3 so its a bit of a rock stuck in a hard place. i know trion is trying to stimulate second hand console sales, you know what but pc and solve the problem will be solved haha

Yea that's what we were afraid of... Oh well, 2 PC versions for us and my brother is bummed! Sucks to be him! Haha I'm sure he'll enjoy the game just fine.

Kinda stinks cause a buddy of mine i invited to play can only play from IMac. Would it be playable through a VM with his IMac?
