the concern i have with this is are we going to have stats reset to reasonable levels or is trion going to **** us all over and leaves missing legit levels and items when it comes back

They fired a bunch of Rift people back in December < Fact

the defiance people are all non rift people and were all new hires that had no understanding about MMOs < my speculation

But if i had a successful team with 1 product I would have had them working on the new product not some seperate / different team with no connection with my past good quality & successful product

Defiance and Rift were developed at the same time, so that wouldn't have been possible. Besides, a lot of the Rift team is still there working on Rift. It seems like bad business practice to pull people from a game you're actively servicing to work on a game that you'll be releasing sometime down the road.

Yup. They could have chosen their timing better, iirc they got let go ~1 week before Christmas? Something like that. I bet that left a sour taste in more than one persons mouth.
