as for defiance.. well.. without breaking any NDA... I can comfortably say this.. they would be crazy to launch the title as is in a month, it lacks in soo many areas, has a whole lot that still needs done just to make it playable..
I think it would be wise for them to wait until at least holiday season, and co launch it with the next gen consoles, allowing them to fix current issues, build what it lacks, and ensure a longer lasting player base. (but, they will have to relearn new dev tools! no.. not really... the ps4 cpu is on an x86 platform.. very well known and used already, thus easy to code for.) If you recall.. FF11 was BOTH on ps2 AND pc.. (microsoft couldn't even render the graphics until well after xbox360, not to mention.. the whole online integration issue with their current market structure.., they do all they can to milk more money from the consumer while providing little in return.)
Main reason I'm just keeping my 360 and buying a ps4 next year. Project Durango has already made it Clear that they will make it really hard to port in third party programs.

I am a little tired of the whole sword and sorcery genre, so I am sticking to Defiance and games like it.

never, as of now, and most likely not.. both it's current system and the specs of its upcoming one are lacking, more so the marketing platform it plays on would be bad, to put simply, for the defiance devs, if by chance they wanted to throw out cheap or free content to dl. It would suffer the same issues as defiance, seperate servers instead of a shared community that pc/playstation have long since had.

Isn't it actually Zenimax's people making it, with the main/single player people(Bethesda) not having any(or much) to do with it?

You don't even know their true specs because they haven't released them yet. Stop being a fan boy and enjoy what both sides will bring to the table. As for what this thread is really about I'm playing both. I love swords/sorcery and the ES lore and I've been in the Alpha and Beta of Defiance.
