I happened to log in about 5 minutes before the server went down-- I'd been out to work. First words: "Someone, somewhere at Trion, is getting yelled at right now."

Agreed. Wow/most MMOs have the awful habit of "go to town when you don't do anything" rather than "go to your favorite place." While I'd wish Trion work on fleshing out the world more, as the major landmarks are dumptrucks with goods in them, I can appreciate the fact that people are forced to find a place of their own outside of the "tavern."
This sort of behavior is even worse in RP circles. I've seen an unconscious character get dragged to a tavern so everyone could see how unconscious she was. Because they wouldn't go to her.
I know this may not be popular but yes chat needs fixing badly but i do not miss it. I realize people go from one thing to next. But it is nice not to see so many messages in chat. Though sometimes i do respond with a kind "thanks" and "yw" when i am helping someone or they are helping me.
We could use our own version of the Need/Want out here on the west coast: somewhere to gather, listen to music, and barter things.
With ark falls and razor rain, it would make sense to use one of the old underground complexes sealed during or after the Pale Wars. Surely there's one that can be rehabilitated and re-purposed somewhere between Madera and Sausalito?
