Add to that a reset of 450 sniper kills on my bolt action kill count. I no longer have Sniper from the Shadows III completed.

I would really like a response from one of the developers to my original thread. 450 sniper kills is not easy to have to regain when you've already completed it.

And lets not forget the fact that all of our boosts are now 9 hours shorter with 0 time played through no fault of our own.

Well I figure seeing as there is no accountability "because it's an mmo and stuff like this is just accepted...." I might as well ask for over the top punishments. At least that way when nothing happens I can imagine it's because OSHA stopped them right as they were getting ready to strap the guy to the Tree of Woe for his caning.

Legally Trion doesn't have to do anything. So that's cool and all.

Legally I don't have to buy anything else from them, and legally I can tell everybody not to buy this game because it's full of bugs and the game devs when they screw up don't do anything but what they are required to do legally.

    Legally is fun I guess.

Not even close. Dec. 2005, EQ2 had been launched just weeks prior. Servers came up around 7AM, then crashed around 10AM. They start looking into the problem and then some NOC chucklehead manages to screw up the backup of the servers at the last save point prior to the crash. 36 hours later, the servers come back up and we've suffered a 3-hour rollback (essentially the last back up prior to the servers coming back up originally.) I did get plenty of entertainment from the forum explosion that seemed to get worse as the time went on.

The 8-9 hour downtime overnight in Defiance...didn't even raise my blood pressure.

I'm sure the PS3 players are collectively giggling at the moment. Because last night for the PC users was NOTHING compared to the month and a half downtime they and PC/Mac Station users went through.

3 hours is not a big deal, some guy posted it might end up being an accumulative days worth of progress, in that case it not acceptable no matter what is given in return. some people do not enjoy putting massive amounts of time into something, and ending up with absolutely nothing in return for it. Where is the doctor in times like this to come and turn this situation around. If it ends up being much more than only a couple or a few hours worth of progress lost, then just don't do any rollback and leave peoples' EGO boosts as they were when the **** up happened, much better to gain days worth of play than to lose it.

EDIT: Just logged in and see that I only lost 3 small ego levels, I don't know where the guy who guessed it might have ended up being over 30 hours of rollback got the idea. 3 ego levels is about what I was expecting myself, I think i got those very quickly before I logged off which was maybe a hair over an hour before all that weird stuff was claimed to have happened to people that got it shut down. so no more than a couple of hours worth was lost it looks like if people were playing right up until it went down. nobody should worry too much unless you got an orange item within those last couple of hours, which in that case I feel for you.

Also, thanks to everyone who continues to post productive thoughts and opinions in here.

It's noon Sunday in California. Sledge was online keeping us in the picture until 4:30 AM (PT). Give him a chance to wake up and track some folks down.

People like you are what's wrong with MMOs today. You will excuse the most buggy ******** which only lets the crappy developers off the hook. We should expect better service and better launches. It's not like Defiance is the first ever MMO. The fact that they have learned nothing from past MMO launch issues tells me they are not capable of fixing these ongoing issues.
