A BARman puts out the most fire so he also draws the most fire. Their estimated time in a fire fight wasn't long. Course many firefights were over in a few seconds.
So, watch the beauty of this system. A fire team leader has 3 people to herd. A squad has 3 fire teams so a Squad Leader has 3 Team leaders to herd. A platoon has 3 squads, a company has 3 platoons, a battalion has 3 companies, a regiment has 3 battalions and a division has 3 regiments. So at each level of command, you are only responsible for 3 subordinates. I was a very easy system.
PLEASE don't tell me if it doesn't work that way anymore.
