Chances are it was rushed out the door a bit due to the TV release schedule. Yes, they need to fix things but it looks like they're working pretty hard to me, up all night on a Saturday for emergency maintenance.

<<< GO GO TRION GO>>> Im waving my pompons up and down cheers ;D wee.
Poor guys they working so hard just so we can have some fun And we are so mean to them.
I mean I was mean as a not nice.
Ugh suckups. Flashbacks of the Bioware forums.
Nothing new. Stuff like this has been happening to online games since UO and Everquest. I can remember nights after work only to find the EQ servers down for "3 hours" eventually turn into "might as well go to bed and try again tomorrow".
I've worked in large whole building floor sized computer hardware labs. Nothing like waiting on that one part at 2AM the vendor rep has to drive 40 miles one way to the nearest spare parts hub to pickup. Then as you boot up it still doesn't work. I sure don't miss those days. lol.
They're working on it as they should. Few years from now the same will happen with another game you'll be playing. Why get all pissy or disrespect your fellow community members that leave supportive messages for the staff?
Was hoping to get some missions done but that'll have to wait until tomorrow night after work.
Cheers ... oh yeah ... and fix the salvage system while your at it. Hasn't been functional for me for 2 days.
The Old Timer's Guild
I've worked in the gaming industry and, right now, I work as an IT Consultant that has the benefit of going into clients across the US and helping them with software solutions. I can tell you with confidence that game programming is among the most challenging and complex of any programming one can do. And with a game this size, it is literally impossible to ship a product without bugs. Literally impossible as in it won't happen - ever. A typical game of this size is millions upon millions upon millions of lines of code worked on by, in the case of Defiance, at least 100 different developers coming from varying backgrounds with varying beliefs about how one should go about software development. Bugs and issues in a game are a given and game companies know this so they must be prepared to put in ridiculous hours of hard work to clean things up as fast as possible. Trion has done an exceptional job of this and I commend them. To say that they are "incompetent" and they are being complimented for fixing their own "incompetence" is to call every game company incompetent. If Trion is "incompetent" then so is Blizzard, EA (the jury's still out), Ubisoft, Microsoft, Square Enix, and basically any gaming company that has produced any game that you have known and loved.
I would absolutely LOVE to have invited you into our game studio to watch us put 100 hours in during a single week while sleeping under our desk and eating Dinty Moore Beef Stew around the clock to stay fed.
I did not play Rift, but from the posts that I've seen of those that did its evident that Trion cares about its community. They do do hard work and it is most appreciated.
Unfortunately though we live in the age of Self Entitlement, and if a company doesnt fix something now then they don't care about us and are a bad company, or if someone has something that I don't, even if they had to work for it, then I should get it just because I want it.
Stupid generation is stupid. =\
Y'all whine too much.
