thought so, that's why it's not P2win - they've made the bulk of the original dev costs back with the initial sales and subs, so the $ store just goes to maintenance and new content

Can't sell/delete an item? Check all of your loadouts, it's likely still equipped.
Auction house? Why? It'll just render bits purchased lock boxes pointless, and weapons are mostly equal anyway.
Gear/enemy progression? No thanks, it'll only render 90% of the content trivial when you reach the highest zone.

Yah but still, Tera is the best example of how to handle f2p. Instead of unfairly punishing f2p users, they reward subscribers. If only other companies could follow this example. Another one is Secret world, though instead of going f2p it wet b2p.

Tera isn't the only one rewarding subscribers. Lotro does that too, as well as swotor. F2P is good, but mostly only if there is an optional sub (which is worth it most of the time).

SWTOR? Dont make me laugh. Thats the worst example ever of a game that nickel and dimes f2p users there is. Yes their cash shop isnt pay to win, but its still no excuse for how they handle the f2p side of the game. Havent played LOTRO myself, so i cant comment on it, or DCUO, which is another game that comes to mind.

TOR has one of the worst examples of how to treat your F2P players and how they treat their subscribers. Remember how when they first released info about HUTTA and the next 5 levels? They made a point of how Subscribers get it for free!! Notice it changed in the end and never even a word of why it changed, Frakin EA can suck an egg! BW used to be a good studio too.

the difference is f2p out of the gate vs f2p after the fact. the ones that didn't start with a sub or buy in, have to make a lot more outta the $ store

My brain hurts from reading all that kid's mindless dribble.

Ironically though, I'm currently torrenting Photoshop CS6, and the Linkin Park discography..
which is okay, 'cause it's not stealing. They'll surely get money from that company selling Chinese sex slaves (mail-order brides) that advertises on tpb.

    Sure.

    Seems awfully legit.

yeah, the torrent sites clearly cut adobe a cheque, which is why trion keeps bumping the xbox and ps3 version torrents here to make things easier.

Your friends are filthy pirates and are the reason gaming quality is dying.
Also they are the reason of FREAKING DRM!!!!!!!

This strategy has been a major success, with companies like Rockstar Games going from strength to strength off torrenting and the successor to GTA4 (GTA5) coming soon.
