aye you nailed that on the head, i mean i heard this game is not pay to win... well when you can pay for such things as scrip, ego, and xp boosts im sorry but you did make a pay to win game no matter how you want to look at it or justify it it is pay to win... the fact that i am hearing they are already going to release DLC has made me start looking for a new game, you want another $40 out of me because you sold me a quarter of a game for $70? to correct expres bush's stupid comment... fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me... this game had better fix a crap load of bugs before i see any DLC, i do like the game but i dont like being taken advantage of... you want my $40 for the DLC then fix the 100k bugs

It's not pay to win, because XP, and scrip boosts don't give you a massive advantage, at all. They just let you progress faster to get perks that don't create a massive difference. It's not like a level 1 vs a level 50 character in an MMORPG. The difference in perks also doesn't mean anything if you're a really good shooter player. You can have all the perks and EGO 5000 and still get smashed by an EGO 1 player who is just better.

I just talked to my friend and he said:
- Torrenting isn't stealing because you are downloading a COPY of the game. No-one is being deprived of the ability to own the game, because when you torrent the company is producing a copy specially for you rather than allocating a physical or limited production run item to you that is owned or was originally intended for someone else (which is why stealing a car somebody else is driving lands you in jail, but my friend has been torrenting and watching youtube for years without any legal problems). In fact you become a new customer for the company.

- Torrenting gives free publicity to the company. My friend linked me to a number of bands who torrent all their music, who use it to raise their profile, earn huge profits from donations and advertising, and get people to come to their concerts.

- He has been torrenting for years with no legal problems and even his parents do it. His father is a police officer.

- Torrent sites are supported by advertising revenue. He showed me a site and true enough it had multiple banner ads.

- If companies didn't want their games torrented (which they do, as proved in the previous point they get advertising money from torrents) why wouldn't they spend some of their $10-100 million dollar developments budgets making effective countermeasures? Yet we have games like Witcher 2 A SINGLE PLAYER ONLY GAME WITH NO MULTIPLAYER ENTICEMENTS TO MAKE PEOPLE PURCHASE A BOXED COPY where the game comes with no copy protection at all. Even with MMOs, which by their design can't be torrented, the game companies let you play them for free.

What rubbish are you trying to push Eisberg (the person I'm quoting)? You are just another Trion fanboy mindlessly defending the company's actions. You are doing Trion more harm than good. Trion don't need yes men. They need people who give them the cold hard truth, because we love this game and we want to give Trion honest feedback so they can improve it and do better with the next title. B2P is an outdated payment model, Trion. F2P is the way of the future. Defiance lives and dies with its players. People need other players to pvp, run co-op missions and do arkfalls. But with the ridiculous $60 price barrier needed to play Defiance, you, Trion, are isolating yourself from customers.

The missions content of DLC is going to be free for everyone who has the game. They don't want to segregate players.

Not that i care for OP's post but do you realize that in F2P games people end up spending more money than B2P and P2P? there is no such thing as a freeloader unless someone is really really cheap and is ok with playing games with loads of restrictions.
