It had all the great attributes of a game I enjoy. Sorry to get off track here. Cheers!
Yes, that's what I'm talking about as well. If you didn't know the prescribed habits of said class, you were "doing it wrong". If thats fun for you, congrats. I found it annoying as hell in the long run.

In this game I started with Blur and then slowly tried different loadouts. I noticed I was actually more effective with some of the perks from around the Overcharge area so I recently respec'd around that. Nothing I did limited any group I was playing in, and nobody ever started angry chatting about the cleric who wasn't built right. In my book, that's a very good thing.

After 11 pages this is all i can say:

I imagine many of the whiners and those crying "Dooms Day" for the game are the "Taylor Swift" of this video.

I havent logged in for about two weeks, I'm waiting for them to re-add Freight Yard. Honestly I think this game is the biggest buyers remorse I've had in a long while. Oh well though, now I know to avoid Trion published games.

Can't wait for Defiance free with the PS+ it will be massively epic.
It's still fine for the ps3 version on EU server, but the pc version... really hard to find a shadow war match for example, and some areas like SF are pretty dead.

well given iv hit queue just to login on the ps3 i think the game is doing just fine, map is full and busy of people doing stuff. the OMG new game has worn off now so i would expect numbers to slip what im likeing is everyone i meet IN-GAME is loving it.

i think the key problem here is that on this forum people who dont even play are just trolling the rest of us which has been made very clear recently by some of the outright rubbish people have been coming out with

What you fail to grasp is that what takes skill is tanking. Or healing, or DPSing, or CCing.

What does not take skill is *being in a class*.
So wth are you arguing? that most people wouldn't find the game more fun if it had classes because the act of picking a class does not require skill?

If youre arguing the game already has roles then I guess that's your opinion but its not mine and ive never seen a credible argument to support the idea that defiance has any roles beyond picking up a healing gun.

Apparently, having a role and skill for that role doesnt take skill. Im starting to wonder if anyone understand the role tanks, dps, and healers have? Because honestly, if they understood it, theres no way you can confuse being a tank, and kinda being a tank.

What odd is when the game released, someone asked what perks would be a good build for a tank, and people was just talking and posting different perks, and it went on for 5pgs, then i asked a simple question, wouldnt Defiance be so much better to have actuall roles, i was bumrushed (nice)..maybe is hould ahve not commented, but haha having a healing gun a healer does not make hahaha.

That when i realized that console players think having any form of real rpg element makes the game like WoW i guess, kind of idiotic, but i guess....

LOL! And this one isn't moderated by the Gestappo?
I lost Count how many threads have been deleted. Especially the ones mentioned the most Critical issues currently With the game.
They either got outright locked or just blunt deleted.

These forums have a quote feature. What it does is show you what people are replying to. Of course, some discussions are more than 2 posts but scrolling up and paging back helps.

Here is what I was discussing:

These are the elements I look for in mmo gaming. A sign that says for experienced gamers only or those who want to be more experienced, not some dummied down shooter with no depth.
    Note the bolded part.

I was having a discussion with Jax about whether the addition of a class mechanic means additional skill is required.

I don't think it's dead and I also don't think it's going to die soon. There are still a lot of people that enjoy it and will continue to, but I don't think it's going to have a large players base. Being a fun, simple shooter and TV series will help it for some time.
