its not hard
Just use a fire based ar smg or lmg or even a fire grenade or rocket to catch them on fire. Much easier than shooting the tanks. Then use your ar/smg/lmg on Joe.
Easy Peasy.
The hardest part is getting the little Smelter f'ers lit on fire. You can knock em down and then target their packs, but I got tired of fiddling around with the targeting and just used pyro grenades to get that part done. You want to do as much damage to Joe of course, but the key to the fight with him is strafing away from his artillery. You can pretty much do that all day with enough room to maneuver. He's pretty slow so whatever weapon you feel like unloading into him works just fine. Once he's on your level he's pretty much cake. Did anyone ever get up to the level above where he was tinkering at the beginning of the encounter? There is a path way to hop on up to where he was, but there is a level behind that's just out of reach.
I just used a grenade launcher for the first part, then hid in back left corner and sniped the smelters, then used my Saw on Joe. For the last part I ran in circles.
i did the whole mission with a north side flare it ignites those little effers without killing them and a lmg saw for the others i dont knlw if you know this but the cloak ability instantly starts to recharge your sbkelds my shield is at 1700 with a 9.6 delay but you circumvent the delay with cloak it is quite handy when you are overwhelmed just cloak recharge throw a flashcharge and cut them all down with a saw
The smelter guys when they run up to you they shoot fire and stand in one place and one direction forever its as simple as when they shoot fire jump over them and shoot there packs theyll even stand still to let you do it when they run in and blow up the boss dropping his shield step out and shoot a few rounds in him then rinse and repeat till he jumps down then hes as same as a tanker to kill besides for his charge which you can just side step or roll out the way i used a assault rifle do do the whole thing
I did it on my second try.
It's easy, just don't get gibbed because it doesn't save progress and that can get annoying.
