Totally hate SF. Ill do the main missions there and get it over with but will not spend anytime there.

It's terrible and very very boring with hateful mobs and horrendous stealth snipers etc. just hate it it sooooooo much.

Hoping for much better in the dlc packs . Hoping they get some full time designers in and not the under grads that designed SF and some other aspects of the game.

I agree. Even if the ruins were supposed to be destroyed in the terraforming, the WHOLE IDEA of the terraforming was to make the area habitable for Votan life. So i was expecting HUGE differences in biomes. Like Sensoth areas, Castithans, Irathients, Indogenes etc.

I was expecting to see alien landscapes not WWIII

Yea man.. it really doesn't feel terraformed.. It feels more like a billion bombs went off decimating almost everything but very few ruins that just happened to avoid the blast somehow leaving only clay dirt in its wake... Yet.. somehow the pavement (road) managed to stay on top of all this and just become broken a bit..

Damn it.. I really like this game.. You all found one of few aspects that really leaves me like... wtf? ... lol .. +1 to the haters (edit: Red team)

Because it wasn't an intentional landscaping thing - it was a terraforming explosion that ended the battle of Defiance. ALL of Earth has been altered by Votan terraforming, hence the gulanite, alien plants, etc.

I like the contrast and some of the emergencies there are fun. I just wish it had some more Fast Travel areas and vendors. It's large for what it actually contains.

I understood San Fran to look the way it does because the terraspire was used as a weapon - probly not allowing for full terraforming to take place. So instead you have a burned out wasteland. Land upheaval would have decimated and buried nearly every structure. So basically, while its a pain in the arse to traverse, it looks precisely as I think it should.

Were you looking for something like this? colorful and sunny, but still seems desolate, and perhaps with more alien plant life?

It was my understanding that a lot of the buildings melted? Yeah, it's pretty desolate, though. Doesn't feel much like a city. Even still, I was glad to reach somewhere that wasn't all rural farmlands. I still say Mt. Tam is the coolest area in the game in reference to environment.

I do yearn for a change of scenery a bit.

I believe that is the opening area? If so I agree... The more you go out in the world the more "empty" it feels as far as environment... It really feels as though somewhere they ran out of time and had to start rushing the further they went out...

Almost the same behaviors I catch myself doing when working on something(Sometimes)... I try to make a certain aspect of something "perfect" not leaving much time for the rest..

Edit: Perfection is also largely debated and rarely achieved.. if ever.. Some times trying to perfect something can worsen it.. Also.. a good artist can make a great picture with a few strokes...
