Agree with everyone about the design BUT there is one great thing about San Fran. No lag and much more efficient Ark falls because..well...not a lot of people in SF.

Maybe you should take a look at pictures of areas that were hit by a nuke or carpet bombing. And even if, it does not make SF less bleak and boring which is a design decision.

I googled for areas bombed out by an alien terraforming explosion that released untold amounts of tachyon energy from an sabotaged Terra-Spire, but got zero results.

    What a boring imagination....

and sorry thats just an excuse for being lazy...this map is the definition of lazy....flat...barren...lifeless....I want SOMTHING, some swamp, a bit of forest, some caves, a sewer system, an icy area with snow...SOMTHING besides brown and grey flatlands...like...cmon, except for those weird big mushrooms there was nothing.

I think a few people missed the part of the lore which basically stated that San Francisco was the center of an intense battle zone, and when the too sides saw a group of civilians trapped by that war they set aside differences to help the civilians. if you look at images of any city which was the heart of any long war they are usually barren wastelands of rubble afterwards. They have plenty of chances for overgrown city environments in the Bay Area, we still have Oakland, Berkley and many other cites in the bay Area. I should point out one thing, San Francisco reality is a very small city on a hill so they got the size proportion right in game, also San Francisco is made up of tall buildings and very old 4 story tall buildings the type of things which wouldn't survive a long war.

Yes, immensely disappointed when I got to SF. I was hoping for an urban wasteland style map. Ideally, it would have been nice to have a 1:1 map of SF, given the current level of mapping technology, but even if it wasn't 1:1, it still would of been nice to have a different flavor of map. At the very least, I was hoping for a true town in SF, like in the show, instead of all of the outposts that are currently in the game.

Agree with much of what every poster has said.

IMO the entire area should look like the PVP map Observatory.

Come on Trion, check Fallout 3's Washington DC for how to make a post-apocalyptic city.
