what is trion gonna do about ultimate edition failure?

so what will trion do about us paying 150 for effectively nothing. a dufflebag? we were suppose to get one week boosts. week 1 was unplayable and glitches rendered the boosts worthless. so ultimate consumers lost out there. all the outfits have an exact copy different name in game. so no perk there either. yes i got my red challenger but that was all preorders. so when will i see any benefit to buying it? right now i have a 50 dollar game 40 dollar dlc pass and a very expensive box. i was the first gamestop preorder in wisc. i put my faith in trion for the most out of this game and now feel my investment sorely lacking...happy with the game. just seems i paid alot for the same thing someone with 60 dollars got...kinda blows goats.

Rarely is it ever worth the price of picking up the limited edition of anything, i look over at my "Shelf of gaming awesomeness!" and all I see is a bunch of crap I wasted money on that could have gone to my drug habit(*******, not a crackhead. just fyi). On launch week a lot of people complained about this and all they got on this forum was "you shouldnt have been a dumb *** and redeemed your code during launch week when anyone with half a brain would have known there would be server issues.", not that i really agree with this but the point is still pretty valid. If I was in your place I would contact trion chat support and see if they can give you a hand. But agreed totally blows goats, hope they get you sorted.

lol forums will let crackhead go, but put pot head in there and its all no no no.

Only a few games are really worth the high price... I've paid like 250€ for the cod mw2 limited edition(sold out on amazon pre release) only to get a low res digi cam covered as an nightvision goggle. :> (costs like 20 bucks on your lokal store)

But there are also good examples of ce's like The Witcher/Darksiders/Far cry 3 which only costs like 10€ more and give you tons of ingame and/or real stuff.

But yeah I just would contact the support, because week 1 was really not playable for a few people. A friend of mine couldn't connect to the servers for like 2 days even if my brother and myself could connect without a problem.

I kinda of agree here, Trion said in the previews, 1 week of boosts would be in game not real time, that wasn't quite true, if you have it the timer runs out in realtime not gametime. The Ultimate edition of music, didn't seem to have the music I wanted to hear from the show, the song "New Age". I have bits, scrips, a statue in two pieces, an art book which is available online if you google it. I have DLC, which was supposed to free and paid every week, plus epic content every 2 months. I haven't seen anything to merit the ultimate stash pricing structure as of yet.

Though if you want to ask a real person I have the company direct phone number. Though the customer service department via phone service was discontinued March 9th before the game launched. That was not encouraging, nor was the news they laid off staff, Developers and artists aren't those the ones who create or streamline content?

I've been pursing this waste of $150 since the week following release and this seems to be as far as I will get:

    Hello Azrael24,

Thank you for contacting us regarding Defiance.

First, I want to apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you. We have and will continue to do all we can to ensure the satisfaction of our customers. I can understand where you are coming from as far as getting what you paid for. Unfortunately, we can only give away so much boost in order to ensure the integrity of the leveling system. If you would like to contact the developers directly you can always submit feedback in game to them directly.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to let us know. Thank you for your continued support of Trion Worlds and for playing Defiance.

Your reference number for this ticket is 999999-999999.

    Sincerely,

    GM Fazeal
    Trion Worlds Inc.

To clarify, they don't have my "continued support". Not spending another dime on anything from this company. Unless, of course, they reimburse me for what I missed out on.

The game and pass are worth $100. When did you first play the game? I began playing it the day before the official launch, the week after all the problems happened they gave a weeks worth of boosts to all day one players. Not sure if it was UE players or not. Me and almost all of my friends bought the UE.

It is kind of ironic to read all the angered players at the "quality" of merchandise from the devs. I frequent the Call of Duty HQ and this is all you hear, year in and year out. We didn't get good stuff, the servers suck, the game is glitched, etc., etc.

After many years of pre-ordering and being disappointed upon launch, I have learned to NOT PRE-ORDER!!

You never get what you pay for in the LE packages and it's mostly junk anyways. Do you really think someone 10 years from now is going to be excited you have cracker-jack NVGs from MW2?

Just as a previous user mentioned, you should know that games at launch have many issues that cannot be accounted for in betas or pre-release patches. It's the interwebz....

I bought the Ultimate Edition and I am happy with what I got in it. I took a look at the Hellbug Statue before I got the set, and the bag is actually pretty well made (at least, mine is- can't speak for any others out there.) It's not the best collector's edition I have bought, but it's also not the worst, and I had a good idea of what I was getting into.

Research is the key, people. Know what you're getting, and if you don't think it'll be worth it, don't buy it.
