Not fussed about patch tbh it's the continuity from show to ps3 game and time line mainly, the fact well be able to hear everything about all future content week or weeks before its even close to being launched on ps3 and Trion doesn't seem to have anything to say about that.
Yeah, just ignore the fact that they've been saying they didn't have an ETA for the PS3 patch since they started talking about the patch. Maybe you should stop wondering and start reading.

Was the beta region locked? I downloaded the game with a UK account, but played on my main/US account. I added a few friends, who turned out to be in the UK, but I was still able to play with my friends here in the US. So is the region lock based on console, or what account you have?

Ok, I didn't even get far into this thead, and saw this post.. I have a request to anyone who states "Be thankful we didn't get the patch..." Don't post it.... Trion patched most of it's mistakes, the bad ones, in about 12 hours, they then continued giving server updates to PC/Xbox 360 all week long, fixing more small things, then released a second patcher update today, within 3 days the game was HIGHLY playable, most bugs were fixed, and the new ones as well.

So, as mentioned above, DO NOT SELF PITTY ON THE FOURMS IT'S NAUSEATING. I agree with the OP, and 2nd poster, sorry but, Trion had the PS3 beta going for well over 3 months, this beta was patched via patcher/title update, they knew the process, Frankly, I'm disgusted with Both Trion, and Sony. Because Trion, could have got it to Sony faster, yes. But, Sony should have considered the game, and the fact they are trying to evolve a genre, Sony's always been about progress, this IS Progress. NO ONE has interconnected 2 forms of entertainment in a way like this, EVER.

Sony, wake up, and take a week, Trion, give Sony the patches every 5 days, and the big patcher ones, give them those on Tuesday, of the episode's airing, for the following week. Everyone wins, Personally, I just think Sony's jealous that SOE didn't think of this Idea, and Trion Worlds did... That being said, The game is nice, this Process on Playstation? a laughing stock. Sony states in their press conference, they are going to change the process, they are going to put Developers first... This kinda reminds me of when they said they were going to support Homebrew, guess what Sony's promises turned out being, is simply this "We are going to make it look like we love Indie, but when push comes to shove we will think of our corporate image first"

Each platform is divergently different from one another although PC-Windows and the XBox 360 could be considered cousins. The PlayStation 3 is coded, packaged, and deployed in an entirely different way so each time a patch is built, it has to be coded, converted, and then tested to make sure it works exactly the same way.

Coding for the PlayStation 3 has always been difficult as there were issues with getting games up to proper framerates, accessing certain network data for matchmaking, and so on. Bigger publishers, such as EA and Activision-Blizzard, have had similar issues with deploying large titles across all three platforms and, in some cases, delayed the PlayStation 3 version of the game because of it. With Trion, they've never done it before so there will be some issues with patch deployment at the start and keeping up to timetable -- it's bound to happen when you do anything for the first time.

Metaphorically speaking, a skydiving instructor can tell you everything you need to know about packing a parachute, going up in a plane, and jumping at 7,000-10,000 feet but until you actually do it, you won't know what to expect or how it will actually go. This is effectively the same thing. Unlike the skydiving, this game dev stuff is not life or death so I can understand if they don't get it right the first time and there are delays. It is frustrating not having been told anything -- I get that as well -- but I do not believe that it is being done with any malice and that work on whatever fixes is getting done.

As I've said in another thread, I'm waiting until Wednesday before I start to be remotely concerned because then it will be two full shifts for both the dev and QA team provided that they got any of this past weekend off. By then, we should expect to hear something further.
Two things you have wrong, one, this game wasn't ported from PC to PS3, initially their were 2 versions of this game, a PC and a PS3, they also went to Microsoft before making these 2 versions to try and get them aboard, initially Microsoft declined, then later changed their mind. The ported version is the Xbox 360 version, which is ported from PC, this is because PC's are used to design most Xbox 360 games, the dev kit for Xbox 360 is essentially a PC with Xbox Specs. This is also why the game, and show ere initially delayed for a month, the show and game were originally going to be a Holiday Season release.. you know how some show's seasons start around November? well initially if I recall, this game was slated as a 4Q2012 release, then pushed back to 1Q2013, around the time the Xbox side started buzzing about Defiance. I maybe wrong, but last I checked that's how Defiance started.

Second thing you have wrong, is trying to state Trion had no former knowlage on how Sony works.. I very much doubt they walked into a deal with Sony blindfolded, that being said the patch was far from perfect, maybe Sony picked up on it and held it back longer then initially thought, or maybe the Maintenance Trion Worlds reported Sony preforming, which broke Sony's Store for a bit, held back the Patch as well, as they had to fix things in Sony Land. Regardless of what the reasons for the Delay maybe, there is no reason they couldn't have kept us up to date on this, not just Trion, but Sony included, as I am active on reading both Forums, Sony has issued no statements on the patch, nor has Trion up until this point. Which is the same statement as a week ago, I believe they said they'd get PS3 the patch "ASAP". and "Working as fast as we can to get it to you" reminds me of "ASAP".

So in conclusion, your effectivly just making excuses for Trion Worlds and Sony. Now I don't know if that was you intention, but their is no excuse for Trion NOT keeping us up to date. They kept us up to date with Dev Diary's, but they can't keep us up to date on this? it's unexeptable, I'm not one of those quitters, I simply am a blunt man who tends to say things others fear to say, and this time I am saying this... To Trion, To Sony, Their is no reason to keep people in a pitch black room, especally when something as small as "PS3 Gamers, I apologize but we are unable to get you the patch today, ((we are working with Sony to get the patch(if this is true) or, We are working our fastest to get this patch set to title update specs((if this is true)) we appreciate your patience in this matter, and again apologize for the extended wait" It's not hard, to let people know your working on something, take what happened at Bethesda with Skyrim, look at how many statements they issued on twitter, how many apologize, reports on things, they made us think they cared, whether they did or didn't they went the extra mile to try. This is what a good customer support team does, they do their best to Feign like their your brother, sitting with you as your fathers died. They make you feel like your not alone in the dark. That is all I asked that Trion does, let us know they're there on a more active basis. Sadly it seems the easiest of things are those taken for granted.

I can make 100k of Salvage in less then 12 hours of gameplay... that's 100 Keycodes... I won't give a flying feck when we can't get Keycodes, and anyone who does, doesn't know what a Salvage Matrix is for... No one buys anything with Scrip, we buy things with Keycodes, yes it takes 3k in Scrip to get a box, but we can make 3k in Scrip, almost as fast. Arkfalls give 500, Co-Op missions about the same, and they let you replay missions post patch, and missions give you between 200 and 500 scrip, we won't miss much. Hell, I never leave San Fran, I enjoy killing Dark Matter and Muties too much, and wanna know how many events in San Fran give Keycodes? None. and if any do, it's VERY sparse.

I also turn salvage into codes but 100 keycodes in 12 hours is pretty bad. Wasnt trying to say you would be one of the ones who whined about the lack of codes. I can just picture a bunch of people who wanted the patch so bad complaining about codes when it does hit.
