Any other PC users now feeling like the village outcasts?

If I'm to understand what I'm seeing on the forums. 360 beta has been extended to five days. Which is cool, I'm happy the 360 got longer beta time. PS3 is still 6 days, and PC is 2. Even though anybody not around for the first couple PC betas are only getting a couple days, which hey, that happens.

However, I'm also reading threads that people are finding means of not only getting PS3 and 360 beta keys, but even downloading the client so it's fully ready to go when the servers go on. Erm... is there any option to pre-download the client for PC version, so we can also have it ready to just go when the servers get flipped on?

Or are we just getting only two days and no pre-download? I mean, really?

(Seems ironic that the two platforms that have nearly a week to beta are ready to go as soon as the flag is tossed... but PC with only two days are going to have to wait to download and install the day of?)

Not always. Everquest did a major character update about 5 years in, and Anarchy Online is doing a major graphics and engine overhaul that'll be done soon (valve time).

EQ update was huge at the time, remember getting screenshots of our characters from american friends in our guild, during the night after release of SoL.

SWTOR (re)enabled high res textures some months into game (albeit for own persona )

Well said. Also blows my mind that people do indeed complain about graphic quality on the PS3 in general. I think the quality of graphics the PS3 is capable of, being 6 years old, is still quite phenomenal. I mean, from a PC perspective, even if a person got all the top of the line hardware 6 years ago (late 2006), I don't think it would have been able to pump out some of the stuff seen today.

EDIT: Even though after rereading that, I think you might have been talking more about Defiance specifically, heh.

Hehe, hopefully soon, AO has been saying soon for at least the past 3 years. I still remember when the first "trailer videos" went out for their graphic update. Looked phenomenal, just taking them quite awhile.

Considering some of the upcoming DLC includes new playable races (or just one, we don't know), we will be seeing new character models in months, not 5-10 years.

OFC its in 2-3 months... if it were years .. .they wouldnt make near as much money. And money is the downfall of gaming - putting the mehanics/eyecandy aside - mmos 10 years ago were alot better then the moneymachines these days - but they are simply too outdated by now :/
