I laugh every time I see someone whine about the lack of PS3 updates.

It's been heavily documented and repeatedly stated that Sony is the one mucking up the works for PS3- they're the bottleneck, not Trion.

I got a 30 minute heads up in the game itself.

You may have, but I literally logged in 30 seconds before the server was taken down. I checked the forum before logging in, and saw nothing. They made a post 3 minutes before taking it down on the forum. Either way, I'm not mad. Just making a point.
