Have a question for David Petersen, creator of languages in Defiance?

Hey guys,

David Petersen is going to be our guest on the third episode of Across the Badlands. If you have a question about the languages of Defiance (or want to know something about how they were made!) please leave it here. I'll be asking a couple of your questions when I meet up with him this week.

Where are the fonts? And why do the signs in world really say?

Will our characters ever be able to swear like basically every NPC in the game? Seems a bit strange to hear s*(t and f$@k everywhere and yet be unable to type these words in game.

Does he plan on creating or collaborating on a rosetta stone type app for android or iOS tablets/smartphones to teach us these languages? if he doesn't have plans, he better make plans. People would buy this.

+1 for an Irathient language course (hey, langenscheidt even has a klingon course...)

It would be really nice to be able to say more than "shtako"

There is a fan based effort going. See my sig. for the links. However seeing as there is only one person who knows the grammar rules at the moment, it will take a bit to figure it all out.

These won't teach you how to speak, but will give a grounding in vocab. Little short at the moment, as there is only one person who knows all the vocab... Growing though.
