[2] Survivalist is a weapon synergy and can be utilized by ANY class, as long as both weapons in the loadout share the synergy. Tested, confirmed, no doubts. Video of research on YouTube.

    I think so.

I like to have different classes running. I do some pretty dedicated builds, plus the leveling of the weapon classes. If you playthrough as a shogunner, then start a sniper, 2 drastically different ways to take on all the same missions.

5 loadouts provide plenty of variety for dedicated builds. You can even switch them during a mission!

I made 2 alts but I never use them. The way the skills work if you do it right you can unlock all the major skills pretty fast so there's no need to create new characters in order to try new skills. Plus, respec'ing your skills and perks is pretty easy and cheap so if you feel like you picked the wrong skill set you can easily redo it. And finally, all the time you spend leveling skills on each character you could be spending on one and making him better overall, maybe if you end up maxing all your weapon skills you might be compelled to create an alt but until then stick with one toon.

I could only see making a new character for appearance or starting with a different power cause you haven't maxed or don't want to unlock other powers versus leveling perks in the EGO grid. As your character gets more advanced and higher EGO rating sending reset scrip and time redoing your EGO grid would be a pain, you might make a new toon to build out a different build that you want to keep permanently.

There are also other players that play to certain points and then just want to make a new toon.

Myself I would like to see a feature to create a new character at half of your current highest EGO rated toon, as to avoid having to complete every side mission, etc to rate up faster, or complete the pursuits on a new toon over again, these should really carry over on an account basis imo.

I have three characters right now, though I'm not too sure why. My main (decoy/gunner) is a dedicated co-op character that I use to play with my brother. I also have cloak/saboteur and overcharge/explosives characters I play solo with. It's actually pretty boring to play with my solo characters after playing with my main as there's so little difference between them.

I do enjoy the change of pace (going from luring enemies into one spot with a decoy and mowing them all down, then hiding in the shadows and picking them off from far away, to just rampaging right through everyone with a rocket launcher and Courier) but it's boring to play the same missions three times. That's my fault though, it isn't really anything the developers can help. I don't expect them to put in parallel storylines, I just shouldn't play all three characters back to back.

The only differences are cosmetic. You'll eventually unlock all the powers and be able to use them on different load outs.
