Five Finger Death Punch Bump! ;]

Five Finger Death Punch (also initialized as 5FDP or FFDP) is an American heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California. Formed in 2005, the group's name is derived from classic oriental martial arts cinema. The band originally consisted of vocalist Ivan Moody, guitarist Zoltan Bathory, guitarist Caleb Andrew Bingham, bassist Matt Snell, and drummer Jeremy Spencer. Bingham was replaced by guitarist Darrell Roberts in 2006, who was then replaced by Jason Hook in 2009. Bassist Matt Snell departed from the band in 2010 and was replaced by Chris Kael in 2011.

    Line-up

    --Ivan Moody – Vocals
    --Zoltan Bathory – Guitar
    --Jeremy Spencer – Drums
    --Jason Hook – Lead Guitar
    --Chris Kael – Bass

I first heard FFDP on the radio one day, the song was Meet The Monster I believe. It was a new band and a sound that, while not all new, was very fresh at the same time. I loved the song and became a supporter of FFDP since I heard them. The link song is Under and Over it, a very catchy tune that is on the FFDP Youtube. I hope you all enjoy them as much as I have!

DeFi time! New patch is here, but the servers are down for me at the moment of me writing this, so I don't know if it messed more up or not.. But lets hope for the best, right? Take care!

    Slayer Bump.. ;[

Why a frown you ask? Well my fellow music fans and metal heads, we have lost a metal icon. Jeff Hanneman died on May 2, 2013 at the age of 49 due to liver failure. I only just found out last night, playing Borderlands 2 with our clan founder, GERMiside. I was honestly shocked at first 'cause he said, and I quote. "Hey did you know the guitarist from Slayer died?" The first thing that popped in my head was Kerry King, his more well known among the mainstream. When I said his name, he informed me that it wasn't him. I'll admit, I have never been a big fan of Slayer. Its just not my type of music, per-say.

However.. I respect all of Slayer, as musicians. Being a musician myself I know how tough it is to write good music, but stay true to yourself. I never felt like Slayer ever drifted away from "Slayer" sound. It always sounded like a Slayer album, and that reminded me of Pantera. We have lost so many brothers *and sisters* in metal. We have a new name to add to that list. Jeff Hanneman will be missed by all who loved metal, and Slayer especially. Now we in the music community take things like this seriously, as serious as any group takes a death of a fellow group member. So this Slayer bump is for you, Jeff. Rest In Peace, brother.

Slayer is an American thrash metal band formed in Huntington Park, California in 1981 by guitarists Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman. Slayer rose to mainstream fame with their 1986 release Reign in Blood, and is credited as one of the "Big Four" thrash metal acts, along with Metallica, Megadeth and Anthrax. Slayer's sales are in the estimated high 20 millions, although they have never publicly announced their sales worldwide. However, between the years 1991 and 2004, Slayer sold over 3.5 million albums in the U.S.

Slayer's musical style involve fast tremolo picking, double bass drumming, and shouted vocals. Hanneman, King, and bassist/vocalist Tom Araya, contribute to the band's lyrics. King and Hanneman create and arrange the music with additional help from drummer Dave Lombardo and sometimes Araya. The band's lyrics and album art, which cover topics such as serial killers, ***********, Satanism, religion, anti-religion, and warfare, have generated album bans, delays, lawsuits and criticism from religious groups and the public. Their music has been highly influential, often being cited by many bands as an influence musically, visually, and lyrically.

    Line-up

    --Tom Araya – Vocals, Bass
    --Kerry King – Guitar
    --Dave Lombardo – Drums

It was rumored that Jeff's liver failure was due to a spider bite, which almost took his arm due to lack of having it checked out. Either way, We'll miss him, Slayer just might not be the same without him. I wish Tom, Dave, and Kerry the best of luck in the future, and wish them well, as well as Jeff's surviving family.

System Of A Down Bump! ;]

System of a Down, also known by the acronym SOAD and often shortened to System, is an Armenian American rock band from Southern California, formed in 1994. It currently consists of Daron Malakian, Serj Tankian, Shavo Odadjian and John Dolmayan.

The band achieved commercial success with the release of five studio albums, of which three debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. System of a Down has been nominated for four Grammy Awards, and their song "B.Y.O.B." was the Best Hard Rock Performance of 2006. The group went on hiatus in August 2006 and reunited in November 2010, embarking on a tour for the following three years.

    Line-up

    --Serj Tankian – Vocals,Keyboard,Guitar
    --Daron Malakian – Backup Vocals-Guitar
--Shavo Odadjian – Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals
    --John Dolmayan – Drums

SOAD was a strange band to me when I first heard it. BYOB was my induction song into the band. It was so strange yet so fulfilling. I loved it! Before long I had heard all the albums and loved it all. SOAD was never metal to me however, but it was never rock either. It was in that strange area in between the two. Serj Tankian is a hero to me vocally, he's strange rythme in singing is something I enjoy to add to my guitar work. That strange sound that's different but is also proper and sounds good. Anyway I hope you all enjoy the link, its Toxicity, full album.

DeFi news! Man I gotta say, I met this guy on the forums. Me and GERMiside played with him and his cousin all last night. Really helped me get passed my problems with DeFi. That's when I realized i didn't have one problem with the game last night, aside from that DAMNED audio bug.. But gameplay wise everything was excellent! So cheers to everyone enjoying the game, WITH FRIENDS! ;]

Just had to say the word..

    Manowar Bump! ;]

Manowar is an American heavy metal band from Auburn, New York. Formed in 1980, the group is known for its lyrics based on fantasy (particularly sword and sorcery), mythological topics (particularly Norse mythology) and for playing a lot of songs about heavy metal music, along with their "loud and bombastic" sound. In an interview for MTV in February 2007, bassist Joey DeMaio lamented that "these days, there's a real lack of big, epic metal that is drenched with crushing guitars and choirs and orchestras... so it's nice to be one of the few bands that's actually doing that." In 1984 the band was included in the Guinness Book of World Records for delivering the loudest performance, a record which they have since broken on 2 occasions. They also hold the world record for the longest heavy metal concert after playing for 5 hours and 1 minute in Bulgaria in 2008. They also have been known for their slogan "Death to false metal".

    Line-up

    --Eric Adams - Vocals
    --Joey DeMaio - Bass
    --Donnie Hamzik - Drums
    --Karl Logan - Guitars

Manowar is a band I'm still new to, I was introduced to them from the game Brutal Legend. The link song, Die for Metal, was in that game, I heard it and really got hooked. It was the powerful Halford like scream, but it always felt more powerful than his scream. The solo really got me to, felt very unique to me, not to sure why though honestly. I hope everyone enjoys this bump and the song, I know metal fans will!

I was always a fan of some of there album artwork to, some of which I am unable to post on these forums.. ;] Take care all!

--EDIT: Going to start putting the videos in the forums itself, as well as the link. Enjoy~!

Today I'm going to do something a bit different, another Pantera bump! ;]

This time I will be adding info on the band however and more then one song, hope you all enjoy!

You've Got To Belong To It!

    Shedding Skin!

    Floods!

    The Art of Shredding!

    10's!

These songs are a just a small taste of Pantera's large discography. Each one represents a stage in Pantera's evolution. I haven't added any pre-CFH songs, but they are just as good. Pantera, since I first heard them, has always been my favorite band. The feeling, the sound, the epic nature of some of these songs is just astounding. See I got this friend, his name is Obderiath, from the forums. We were talking about music, and he is a fellow guitarist.

He tells me "Your going to hate me.. But Pantera kinda bores me." At first I was surprised, but everyone likes they're own type of music. I would never fault him for not liking Pantera, as no one else should. --Side Note *Avoid YouTube comments..*

K, Back on track! I really dig Pantera because of Darrell Lance Abbott. Also known as Dimebag Darrell. His guitar work, in my own opinion, is amazing. He took such simple solo methods, and made them sound so epic, and they fit the song so well. Never in a song did he just solo to show off, he did that in between the songs. Being the only guitarist in Pantera, he had full reign to make the guitars sound however he wanted, it really gave Pantera that unique sound.

After awhile I started to notice though, I never head-banged to the guitar riff, not directly. It was Vinnie Paul, Darrell's brother, on drums who got the head-bang started. His drumming paterns on the "Groove" part of Pantera's Power-Groove type metal that it that even heavier approach. Again, like his brother, he would add subtle things that made a simple beat, into something so much more. Speaking of the groove, it is my favorite part of Pantera songs, the break-down.

I love how the songs can go from full on thrashing, fast playing, and instantly slow down at a certain point. The best part, to me, is the break-down riff is always the same as the main riff, just altered a bit. It feels so natural and familiar yet unique at the same time. They can also go from a slow chunk riff, and then explode into a fast groove riff. When you know the songs, and the break-downs, you know when to head-bang full on. It just feels like you should.

That's what music is to me, a feeling. It's not a job, though technically it is. It's this feeling you get, this amazing amalgamation of sounds that move you, or touch you. That's what music is, and what it has always been. Pantera was my band for that, no band or guitarist has inspired me more to go out, kick-***, and raise a little hell than Dimebag and Pantera. This is the kicker for me.

If you look up, you'll find a song called Floods, linked. That song has some of the most emotional riffs in it. The sounds all come together to create something so amazing to me that words don't describe, Not to me anyway. Well enough of me blabbing, let's see some of the bands information!

Pantera was an American heavy metal band from Arlington, Texas. They were formed in 1981 by the Abbott brothers, Vinnie Paul and Dimebag Darrell, along with Terry Glaze. Rex Brown joined the band the next year. Looking for a new and heavier sound, Pantera had Terry replaced in 1987 with Phil Anselmo as the new vocalist. Pantera has sold around 20 million albums. Starting as a glam metal band, Pantera released four albums during the 1980s. For their fifth album, Cowboys from Hell, released in 1990, Pantera introduced a heavier groove metal sound. Their sixth album Vulgar Display of Power, released in 1992, revealed a heavier sound than Cowboys from Hell and their 1994 release of Far Beyond Driven debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200.

Tensions began to surface amongst the band members when Phil Anselmo became addicted to ****** in 1995. This resulted in the recording sessions for The Great Southern Trendkill, released in 1996, to be held separately. The ongoing tension lasted for another seven years, in which only one studio album, Reinventing the Steel, released in 2000, was recorded. Pantera went on hiatus in 2001, but was disbanded by the Abbott brothers in 2003 after concluding Anselmo would not return to the band. The Abbott brothers went on and subsequently formed Damageplan, while Anselmo began work on several side projects, including Down in which Rex Brown joined as well. Any hopes of a reunion were lost on December 8, 2004, when Dimebag Darrell was shot and killed onstage by a deranged fan during a Damageplan concert in Columbus, Ohio.

    Line-up

    --Darrell "Dimebag" Abbott - Guitars
    --Vinnie Paul - Drums
    --Rex Brown - Bass
    --Phil Anselmo - Vocals

As Pantera fans know, Darrell was killed onstage, during a Damageplan concert. Damageplan was the band that the Abbott brothers, Vinnie Paul and Darrell, started after disbanding Pantera. I will not name who killed him, as in my opinion his name isn't worth knowing. He was a disgruntled Pantera fan reportedly however, and shot Dimebag, and 3 others, dead on stage.

I could never forget what Dime showed me, how his guitar playing influenced me. Not just me, the majority of young American metal-heads out there. Dime influenced us all in some way. I don't ask that you like Pantera, or Darrell, But respect him. Respect the music he created, and the legacy he left behind. He is forever our brother, and the greatest metal musician of all time. *Again, My opinion.*

    Gone, But never forgotten.
