the Synergy mods you can buy from the Reputation vendors are they random?

I'm thinking about buying the Purple LMG from the one Rep vendor that has the 400 damage one, and I'm wondering if I buy Synergy mods from another of the Rep vendors, is there a chance they will match? or would I be wasting Rep?
