So, I laughed pretty hard when I heard the closing music. "No, I don't have a gun". Anyone else reminded by all the people reporting their weapons are disappearing out of their inventory?

I can see a future expansion heading into Oakland. Although Oaktown with Dark Matter would probably be less dangerous than it's present day self :P

And people said there wouldn't be any tie-ins between the show and the game! Take that, serendipity!

St Louis just happens to be called Defiance also.

Defiance was the action taken to create The Pale Wars. Hence there are many terms that Defiance is used for. Do not take for granted that the "city" Defiance is a set in stone point for either the TV show or game.
The Pale Wars weren't started by an act of defiance, they were ended by it. Soldiers on both side disobeyed direct orders and worked together to rescue civillians. The word of their defiance spread and other soldiers refused to fight leading to all the sides coming together and ending the wars. The city is named for that and in honor of the original defiant few.

Season one is probably staying in St Louis especially considering that Nolan's character is from there - I would bet that eventually there will be a tie in to San Fran - something like they need certain arktech from an arkfall in San Fran to do something in St Louis.

I think keeping the worlds separate makes sense. One day (hopefully a long time from now) when the series ends, then they can expand the game map to Defiance.

And, sorry, but - again - if anyone thinks the setting is changing, they are deluding themselves. Sorry, just the reality of paying for a TV show. The only way that'd happen is if they think the show needs a major retool to save it. They wouldn't plan for that.

Defiance is actually a noun. Also the "Defiance" that everybody in the show and game talks about ended the Pale Wars. Not started them.

No one has to take anything for granted. They stated the show would start off based in St. Louis and the game would be San Fran. But others have already mentioned in this thread about hints it would be moving to LA.

The connections between the game and the show are terrible and not what anyone had hoped for. The explanations on the website that describes it is hilariously basic. Oh wow so the art teams collaborated on what gulanite is going to look like in both worlds... Something as simple as that should be expected and not worth mentioning. I noticed in the preview for episode three there were helmets that looked similar to the Machinist helmet and I expect every little nod to be just like that. I know it's stupid to have believed there would be anything more cohesive and innovative than what we have gotten so far but the simplicity of what is shown so far is laughable.

In one of the making of Defiance shows that were shown on tv, Nolan said that the game launched 2 weeks before the show because that was time it took for him and Irisa to drive to St. Louis from San Fran when they left after the main missions.

I'm still wondering how they made a game called Defiance...without including the reason it's named that way, in the game.
    So many lost opportunities imo...
