But that church is ~360mi east of St. Louis and was set ablaze by lightning in 2010. :\
Touchdown jesus? Its called the King of Kings statue. It was destroyed and never rebulit. Its replacement is called Lux Mundi.

That looks like it but how did it get there? Its 363 miles away.

Ok, thought so. Point #31 in OP says otherwise, though.

I was under the impression that Paradise was the entire Bay Area's name. Everyone there is under Ara, she is the Mayor. That is why Jon is the Law Keeper of Paradise and lives out on a ranch.. right?

Ara's settlement is just the seat of power. That was my understandings.

    Cold Fire Blues

Amanda wore her arm in a sling throughout Episode 2, an injury inflicted by a cold fire weapon during the battle with the Volge. Cold fire-wielding Volge "will be" one of the most dangerous enemies players face in battling around the ruins of the Bay Area.

    Armistice Festival

Amanda led the people of Defiance in celebrating Armistice Day, which marked the end of the Pale Wars that nearly destroyed the planet. Just as they celebrate on the TV show, players in the game will witness celebratory evidence as they explore San Francisco.

    Enter the Volge

The Volge are a deadly race of bellicose aliens intentionally left behind when the Votans' system was destroyed (except – surprise –they weren't so left behind). When they turn up, Volge are among the nastiest enemies in the game.

    Ara Shondu

When Amanda is lying to her sneaky assistant Ben, she claims that she's got an upcoming meeting Ara Shondu. Shondu is the Mayor of Paradise, a settlement in the Bay Area that is featured in the game.

So we have no Volge and can someone point out the Paradise settlement, closest thing to a settlement is the iron demon ranch? Armistice celebration, I personally found this one a bit underwhelming, but I didn't catch an Armistice day vibe from the show either.

What is interesting however are the data recorders and some connect Ara to a meeting and plans involving the mag-lev line, possibly if it is to succeed from yuma new-york followed by expanding it to the bay area. The bay area is also a rich mining region of Gulanite, much like Defiance. My understanding is that fast quantities are needed for the mag-lev project?

This would give 2nd motives for the E-rep expedition to the bay area and what would exterminating Defiance mean for their goals? Easy access or a hindrance? Why does the hunt for that item, include the necessity to wipe out Defiance?

I would say Iron Demon Ranch or Headlands are the closest things to a settlement in the game. It would be nice to have a central meeting spot.

Yep. No one seems to know where/what the heck that is from. If no one is able to figure it out it could be explained away as a statue erected in the future.
    Yeah, the previous "Touchdown Jesus". Meant that burned up not the church. -_-;;

My guess would be its a post-arrival but pre-arkfall statue. Maybe its a man on his knees with his arms raised to the sky.. something to do with the Arks first arriving before the Pale Wars began? A "welcome" statue?
