Finally got to reach him last night, at 900ish EGO. I must say I was VERY scared of the difficulty of the fight, so I went there really focused. Only took me one attempt to get it down, he got me to the ground once only.
Didn't read a single guide prior to the fight, because I wanted to experience the fight by myself.
That was challenging, not as hard as some boss fights I got in Borderlands 2 (the first DLC ones), but hard anyway.
Figured out I could hide behind a pillar and run/dodge around it to avoid every single AOE he did on that last phase.

i too had some issues with nim and i died about 20 times tot my recollection.

has anyone had this problem? ( i was fighting nim but and he would down me.. yet my incapacitated bar would go bye bye in like 1.2 seconds. or how about when being downed and having a self revive timer that is full not having the press X for self revive or press A for extraction pop up and only getting the press A for extraction to pop up?)

im on PC but use a 360 controller

You know the real dumb thing is, here I am in a starbucks, there are three 20 year old, female baristas, and I still started scrolling up and down for a second until I realized I didn't care.
Telling someone how they can improve is 200% more helpful then telling someone that they need to improve.

I found Nim to be fairly tough. I probably died about 10-11 times - the first 7-8 on stage 1, and I got really frustrated about being kicked back to the start of the fight each time. My chief frustration was the fact that when he did that "charge" attack towards you, even if you rolled out of the way and dodged him, it STILL damaged you as if it'd hit you full on. It even drove me to check these forums before trying again to finish it, to check that people really had beaten him and it was possible!

So that caveat out of the way: I didn't think Nim was easy, I didn't one shot him.

I didn't go seeking congratulations. I don't do this. If I level up in an MMO, I don't announce it to the world. When I achieve something, I don't declare it. And if I did, I wouldn't get stroppy when people didn't congratulate me. Nor would I take it even more extreme when not enough people congratulated me to my satisfaction... and then go to the game's official forums, and make a thread whining about how not enough people congratulated me. And admitting that I counted how many congratulated me on one hand, how many laughed on the other, weighed them up against eachother, and got upset by it.

It's as bad as those threads or chat conversations you see in MMO's sometimes "Hey I'm a girl gamer and just wanted to say hi... BUT I DON'T WANT ATTENTION!". "Hey I did this thing in the game and didn't get congratulations in the game BECAUSE EVERYONE IS MEAN... but I don't want you all to congratulate me here, HONEST!".

Anyway, just so you can add up on both hands rather than only the "negative" hand from this post alone:
Congratulations on finally beating Nim. It was definitely a tough fight, and a frustrating fight.

If you find this offensive, I'm cool with that. You telling me outright that you you think my opinion should be disregarded without knowing what I have to say is arrogant and rude.

The short version of my thoughts are no way in contrast to yours. Nim's not hard tho. Turn it any way you like, Nim and Joe are both easy. But they feel right for where these encounters are placed in the game and the only change I would like to see concerns last patchs 'replay' option.

Anyway, fact is the fight mechanics of Nim are simple and his number of moves is limited. They all are telegraphed and none deals lethal damage outright.
This makes Nim potentially an easy fight. However for the first major story boss that we have to face alone I feel the difficulty was quite alright.
Even though I personally had no problems with any of my 2 fights against him there was always a constant threat of dying if playing sloppy.
For example, simply because of the number of trait slots I have available and the quality of my shield some bosses such as the Motherlode cannot kill me anymore without the aid of adds, which makes Nim somehow difficult in comparison.

My one issue with Nim is how the 'story missions replay' was added, I fully expected to be able to freely choose what missions I do and would've repeated Joe and Nim multiple times by now.
And the option to do it with friends and have the bosses scale up would also be nice, basicly both Joe and Nim would become mini-coops without Trion having to generate any new content.

Difficulty however is an issue for another aspect of the game: The freely repeatable Arkfalls and co-ops.
To be honest, would the gameplay not be so damn good and spot on, many people would've quit already because while there is stuff to do it's sleepwalking through hordes of mobs.

Congrats on beating him. Nim wasn't exactly easy. He was challenging for me, but not extremely so. I did him first time without dieing(had to self recover once). I had no previous knowledge of the fight, I had to figure it out on the fly. I played it with my normal pve sniper build, and looking back there were good things and bad things about the build for this fight. I was using a Respark shield, the +hp perk, and the reduced damage for 3 seconds after shield break perk. I also had cloak, which I used to replenish my shields in a couple of emergency situations. So, my perks were solid defensively. My weapon loudout wasn't quite so good: bolt action sniper(utterly useless in this fight), and Wolfhound pistol(got the job done, but I was really wishing I had something more spammy with a bit more range like a smg).

I don't say this stuff to take anything away from you. I say it to stem the tide of "Nim is impossible/too hard" posts that are all over this board. It gives a more accurate reflection on the difficulty of the fight for anybody who may reading the thread. Some people will find it hard. Some people will find it easy. Some will find it just about right(I'm in this camp). I'd like to see more content at this difficulty level.

He was pretty tough and i hope they do add an option where upon your first death on fighting him they give you an option to make him easier so that you can progress to the end of the storyline,it is no fun being stuck on something and not progressing through it because of one obstacle blocking your path~

But i however did enjoy beating him at the end!

Some gamers will find him easier than others, based on comfort ability with TPS games, how familiar you are with the game mechanics and trial and error.

Some people got lucky, he becomes easy once you figure out his pattern, some people didn't survive long enough to figure it out, some people aren't good enough gamers to detect and find his pattern.

It took me about 4 - 5 tries, I was trying out different weapon and perk set ups to find the one that worked best. I found it and didn't die again. I wouldn't say he's easy, compared to the other fights in the game he's very difficult. Compared to something like Emerald weapon in the Final Fantasy series he's a breeze.

Compared to many other end bosses he's hard, compared to many other end bosses he's easy. If you compare him to say, the end Boss of Fable 3 or 2, he's hard.

Nim was easy for me but I was around 400 ego with respark and cloak, I think I also used a BMG.

Easy, but then again I grew up playing old nintendo games like Metroid.
