I did him on the first try without dying at ~700 EGO
Used:
- Green Frontier SAW with extended mag, tactical scope, recoil buttstock, x1.03 damage
- Overload
- 6% less damage perk / 50% damage after shield breaks / % HP regen / Overcharge duration / Bloodlust (cooldown reduction on hit)
- On PC using the auto-aim option because I'm terrible at shooters
- Used the terraforming spire in P3 as cover to evade that jumping->groundslam attack
- P1 when he does several consecutive charges almost killed me. I found out that it's important to make him charge the longest way possible, because then you have more time between the "lock on" and the actual charge in your direction.
- Lots of dodge roll spamming and bunny hopping
I've tried Nim, 4 or 5 times now. I'm at the point where I am just going to forget he exists for awhile.
I hate having to clear the tunnels out every single time I go back to try.
I hate the fact my reflexes are a tad slow, and my aim is off.
So, by the time I return to Nim, I'll have an ego of over a thousand, and hopefully a few weapons at max levels.
I was just like you for a week. Took him on a few times. Got frustrated and figured I'd try again tomorrow. Had to re-clear and it was getting old. Finally Saturday or maybe it was Sunday I got him.
I used a semi-auto magazine fed shotgun on him. Sure it probably took me a bit longer, but I didn't have to really aim at all. I made sure I had a shield that starts to regen after 3 seconds. I have invisibility, but I didn't use it more than twice on the first fight.
Having to reclear sucks, but at least you are getting xp and chances at more gear. Keep at it. You will get him down.
I'm sorry, but I respectfully disagree about humility not being in the message, but I guess it's all on how you look at having a sense of humility to begin with I suppose. For me, you actually prove my point in the way you so modernly put your take on ego and pride. "Live gracefully. Game like a boss." It's hard to have an elevated sense of self (pride) when you live gracefully. Most I know that live "gracefully" have a keen sense of humbleness, and humbleness is a pillar of humility.
Not that there is anything wrong with pride either. It's just about keeping it in check so that you don't alienate your fellow man or woman. It's a whole lot easier to fellowship with others when you have a strong sense of being humble. A sense of humility. Or, in your words, a sense of grace. Which, if you'll recall, is what I actually said the OP's message was. Fellowship. Now don't misconstrue what I'm saying. Just as pride must be kept in check to prevent one from becoming a massive jerk, so too must humility be kept in check to prevent one from becoming a doormat.
By the way, not sure if you're implying me being a hippy with the Down with the establishment comment (I honestly chuckled, thanks for that lol) but...yes. Governments and leaders that shall go unnamed could learn a thing or two about humility.
Sounds like you need a new clan buddy.

No, some people are trying to help others and mentioning Nim wasn't dificult for them is just part of the conversation. Look carefully and I don't accuse everyone, I use words like tons and often which could even be a minority of players since I don't specify what they mean in terms of numbers. However people often jump in, and you read my post to mean everyone who says Nim was easy (to be clear those were not my words).
Nim was easy to me, annoying, but easy. Killed him first try without reading any tips or such.
But to you, congrats, he was a challenge for you and overcoming that was a good time for you.
I am not here to belittle your happy moment, im stating a personal experience just as you are. Just like you might be some award winning champion Chess player where as my computer can kick my *** on easy with redo involved. If people are insulting you or making it seem like you suck with comments in your clan, leave and find a new one. There are plenty out there searching for members for one thing or another.
