[QUOTE=Soobydoo;436966]I have had scenarios with missing money and other issues as well. I have found that 'throwing a fit' leads to increased stress and agitation levels for everyone involved and tends to make the entire situation worse rather than better. However, I am not here to tell people how to live their lives, simply suggesting they might get better discourse if they used more courteous methods.[/QUOTE

Obviously, I put "throw a fit" in quotes, implying that I wasn't being serious about throwing a fit. And by "much worse", I meant I would escalate the problem however far I needed to, until it was resolved.

But thank you for reminding me I need to be painfully, blatantly simplistic in the way I explain things here on this forum.

Well, in your scenario, the milk was assured to be of good quality until a certain date. Trion made no false claims. End of the line is that you can't take any legal action against Trion so your analogy makes no sense. Any support provided by Trion is merely an addition, not a God-given right. (even though it is partly to maintain the good name of the company, something which potentially suffered already)

Did any of you people never jump on Vista when it first came out, if I am not mistaken Microsoft is one of the biggest developers in the land and they even release crap software sometimes, the difference is that Trion is going to turn this into a Windows 3.1 success instead of letting it become a Vista disaster, and if you are unable to see that then there is nothing that any dev or community manager is going to be able to say to quench your thirst for retribution. I would recommend instead of all the time you spend complaining about it not working double checking your system because it is possible that the problem is on your end, perhaps update your drivers check your ports run a virus scan, check your registry if you have the experience. After all other than very few minor bugs the game runs fantastic on my 2 year old system.

It's not the task of the consumer to find the flaws ahead of time, it's the responsability of the manufacturer to ensure a quality product. (Or did you miss the memo about the American Auto Industry?)
Actually it is the responsibility of the consumer to research a product before making a purchase if I need a car I better know that a f-150 is not what I want. Any consumer that would haphazardly spend an amount of money that is larger than they can afford to throw away, without first researching the product lacks the common sense that most normal people have. Researching the product beforehand allows you to be an informed consumer and I highly recommend that everyone should strive to be more informed on where their money goes.

I just want you guys to know that I read each and every one of these rant threads, when I get a chance. The reason being? It always perks me up, and often literally makes me laugh.

    Here's Why:

    1) I have yet to see, anywhere, any major problem that has not been specifically addressed by the Dev team through the use of the Forums, Blog, or tweets, ever, period. They even listed the priority that they would be addressing the issues in. 1) Fixing connectivity issues 2) Game breaking bugs 3) Other bugs. In that order, whatever your pet bug is, there's the order in which it's going to be fixed. The fact people don't know this means that they are lazy, it means nothing else.

    2) Someone -always- claims to be a software developer. These people crack me up the most, because I've been there myself, on the marketing side of it. Developers often frustratingly know that they are releasing products that have bugs in them because if Developers had their way they'd work on a product forever to make sure it was as perfect as possible. They're proud of their work, and the idea they'd deliberately release an item that was buggy is nonsense. The same in many ways goes to the Marketing staff, we live in a world full of cringes because we know from the beginning that once the product that we're marketing goes public that there will in fact be bugs in it. The thing is that both developers and marketers know that eventually the product does in fact have to be released, and that date is set, and you have to do the best you can until the deadline hits. The point I'm making is that whether you're in Software development or in marketing for a product you know from the outset this simple fact. BUGS WILL HAPPEN. If a person is in Software Development, or Marketing, or has ever worked for a Software company then they know this, and shouldn't be surprised when they do. Just because they're bugs doesn't mean the software isn't finished upon release, it means that the inevitable once again happened, namely that issues arose that were unforeseen. As customers and fellow humans we should also understand that.

    3) Have you ever filed a support ticket? Check out the number attached to that ticket. I think that the last one I filed was over 150,000. Now does that mean there are 150,000 bugs? Of course not, it means that 150,000 people have filed for maybe 50 different, relatively unimportant, bugs, half of which aren't bugs at all but things that were already addressed and changed inside the game that people didn't bother reading about. The point of knowing this is that if the development staff were to individually reply to 150,000 individual bugs, with the same answer 1 out of 50 times, then there would never be any new content, ever, and no bugs would be fixed, because it would take a staff the size of NASA in order to respond to just the number of people crying over " The Salvage Matrix is Broken! I hit the wrong button and accidently turned my gold weapon into Arktech but don't want to admit it! ". I'll admit that I have a bad case of schadenfreude but a lot of people make it so easy it's painful.

My absolute favorites are the long, drama filled, good bye notes I see ever so often from people rage quitting from the game. In my head I always think " There goes another idiot who was shooting skitterlings at that last ArkFall I was at " because that's about the level of intelligence and understanding that those posts tend to give off.

Now am I coming off as arrogant and elitist? Yes I am, and you know what, I'm also unsympathetic. I can for the most part say that my arrogance might be something that I should work on, but it's hard not to be elitist when half the people in the world don't know that they are dumber than the other half, nor be sympathetic to people who would rather ***** and be lazy than look for, or solve, their own problems. Getting answers to questions in this game is only slightly harder than toilet training, and it seems to be an ongoing epidemic of whiny people endlessly going on about how " Trion doesn't communicate with us " to which I say " You're out of your damn mind you stupid school girl "

Now this is about as harsh as I get on forums, so I expect some reaction to it, but let me say before you do. I don't particularly care what you have to say in " retaliation " for this post. There is only so much pathetic whining a person can read before they feel the need to pimp slap someone, even if it's only through typing on a screen. Consider yourself pimp slapped in advance.

To those sane, rational, patient people who bother to look stuff up, and are patient understanding **** sapiens sapiens. Thank you for populating this earth.

EDIT: The last word that was ***'d was what you'd get if you took HIMI and replaced the I's with O's. I doubt the people who the comment was directed at would need to be told that, but I do have to at least attempt to explain the reasoning to the short bus crowd.

this is honestly the funniest thing i have read all day. I am so glad i have the common sense to read the patch notes and the blogs they release about things like these. i seriously face palm at this ish.
did you not read the blogs on the front of the community page? do you know how to access the server updates that you can link to from the first page of the forums? go cry and whine somewhere else.

they are communicating. you are just too ignorant to read the stuff posted, or are you still waiting for your personalized phone call letting you know the servers are going to be down? grow up, do some research before you break down into tears and snap your game disc in half and demand trion replaces it for you because somehow its their fault right?

this is the first MMO i have played mainly because im a console player, and even i had the common sense to realize hmmm i think there may be some issues for the first month or two im going to wait it out for a bit and just play and see what happens.

guess what everything that was wrong with the game on launch has been fixed, is in the process of being fixed, or has been acknowledged that it needs to be taken care of.
